Roger_Rabbit
Not a very good call Pete, is it black plastic, approx 2 - 3 inches long with a very long reed ?? Too short and difficult to get a variable depth of tone due to the reed blocking with spit (saliva) :*) also difficult to project the volume any distance. Try and find a wooden Lohman .. far, far better but more expensive. I have the Lohman and a Haydel's acrylic which is brilliant. Not sure if you can purchase the Haydel in this country but you should have no problem finding the Lohman. Dump the Acme .. in my opinion
hill billy
Hi i have one mate as he said there not brilliant but they do the job, what i do it give one long blow and then followed by a short one then wait till the crow calls back then try to make a few short calls matching the one the crow gave you, if you want to change the pitch just squeeze the end of the call with your teeth while blowing, i can't tell you really what you no because all crows will be atracted to diffrent length and pitch calls, so what i do is just call let it call back then call it again hope that helped jason

bobthenailer22
i use an acme crow call and have done for years, i have no complaints what so ever. i agree that if you just blow thru it you will get a noise that sounds like a pary whistle that has been sat on ........ but if you spend time to learn how to blow it it gives a very good clear loud crow caw that you can vary the pitch with. you have to blow from your throat as if you were clearing your chest or throat vary the pitch by squeezing the reed end between your lips or teeth. also cover the other end with your fingers as if you were playing the harmonica(mouth organ). i hope that this will help but the secret is nothing more than practice practice practice.regards bob
