anser2
I have one rape field that I can only shoot with a North wind because of the village 250 yards off the the north and west and the farm yard 100 yards off to the east. For weeks there has been a nice little flock of about 100 pigeons from the village feeding on the field , but because of the wind direction i could not shoot it . At last the wind was from the north yesterday and I prepared to deal with the birds. Just as I got out of the car it started to rain. I thought I would give it a while , but the rain became a down pore. All the time pigeons were moving onto and off the field. I nearly went , but the man on the radio said the wind would still be north today , but dry , so I left them and came back this morning. Wind perfect and the day dry. I set up with confidence. 3 hours later just 6 pigeons had come onto the field and 5 of them shot. Behind me all I could hear were cooing birds , spring was in the air and those birds had no interest in food today. Typical the wind is going south all next week
