kev 1
Hello, just after some info...My brother has got 1male and 1 female Pheasant, They are in a penn in the garden which is up against the side of his outhouse, which they can go into at night, but lately the male goes in at night and the female stays outside???? He has asked me to find out if this is a breeding thing? She just sits in the soil by some plants and he has to persuade her to go inside... Before anyone says have they had an argument or split up or something along those lines.......I dont know

Stillsy
Its all part of breeding. She most likely is coming into lay but isn't ready yet, and he's got one sniff and made his mind up, he's probably been chasing her round the pen trying to catch her, as they do. When she is ready she will let him catch her. Pheasants are supposed to rest outside anyway as long as there is cover they will perch or sit in it.
