Baldrick
Good in what capacity? What would you be using it for? It's a outstanding scope, but in my opinion the superlative low-light capability of the x56 Zeiss, S&B or Swarovski models pips Nightforce to the post. Jimmer
Glass quality really.Lamping, and low light shooting. The problem with german glass i cant find a higher than 10/12x on a 56mm scope. My local Gun shop has a mint one of these and want £900 fo it. I'm not sure if this is about right seemed a bit steep to me? jimmer

Hodmedod.one
I got rid of a fixed mag S+B and a Swarovski and bought a Nightforce. German Optics are superb but the reticles are too fat. They are awesome for Deer but rubbish for long range foxes. Nightforce make superb reticles but they are so fine that you need to use the illumination facility when lamping. You could ask lots of my local foxes for their opinions on Nightforce optics....if they weren't all dead

I use one of these, specifically because it has a fine, illuminated reticle: http://www.zeiss.com/c1256bcf0020be5f/Cont...525754a0052c58c Swaro, IOR and S&B PMIIs can all be had with fine reticles in high-mag x56 formats.
