p@cman
A friend of mine has the same problem with his old English hammer gun piercing the primer cap occasionally and he's been wondering the same thing; will it cause any damage and does it need sorting out pronto or is it nothing to worry about? Can anyone advise?
fuzrat
I would say there was nothing particularly dangerous about this. But, if the pin was to stick in the primer instead of rebounding, when opening gun you could well break a pin off. A trip to the gunsmith to make sure the correct length pins are fitted would be worthwhile. Fuzrat
