Vulcha
I had an ingenious plan today, which was tp purchase a gas ram for my .22 Supersport. Obviously I'd make sure that I got the .22 ram, but I was wondering if anybody had fitted one before. Is this gonna be a simple D.I.Y job or should I leave this one to the professionals? Also, I've got half a mind to cut a few inches off the barrel so I could fit a silencer on it after fitting the gas ram, so it wouldn't be 400ft long. Are there any laws against shortening the barrel of an air rifle? I know I'd loose the blueing at the end of the barrel, but I'm sure that could be rectified fairly cheaply. So, if anybody can give me any info on these issues, it would be rather appreciated!
smudger1234
Fitting the gas ram - pretty easy, nothing complicated really. Have a go and if you get stuck gett he shop to fit it. Cutting the barrel - there are no laws against cutting the barrel as long as the overal rifle length doesnt go shorter than a certain distance (i cant remember it off the top of ny head sorry) You do need to be sure that you recrown the barrel really well or this will affect the accuracy
Vulcha
I didn't think about the whole re-crowning thing. Ah well, it'd look kinda cool really long. Kinda like a brown bess lol. If putting in a ram as a simple as say, changing a spring?
