smithee
Hi all, Want to get a kick-eez pad fitted to my B525 but feel a bit confused among the choice: http://www.kickeezproducts.com/grind-to-fit-recoil-pads.php Also - the sizing seems confusing (to me at least) Has anyone fitted one to the B525 - can you advise? What thickness/type is best? Cheers!
wisecobandit
Just fitted the 301-10-l-b to my 525 sporter yesterday! Mine doesnt have the chamfered top (201 series) but is a sporting pad so is pretty flat where it goes into the shoulder.I would reccommend this pad for sporting shooting. Its not overly thick about 3/4" but i had a thicker one on one of my cynergy and it felt a bit "squishy! in the shoulder when i shot. The 400 series is more for trap shooting having a more concaved shape to fit in the shoulder. This isnt the best for sporting/game as it would hamper aquick gun mount. So basically the first ie 201 denotes shape of pad Second ie 10 i believe would be thickness L or M denotes large pad or medium pad.L is fine for a 525 as its a grind to fit anyway. wisecobandit
Oh and i will point out you will need to "straighten/flatten" the rear end of you stock as its curved not flat to fit it properly. I do quite a few pads so ive got a bench sander i use but you could take your time and cut it straight with a hacksaw or very fine wood saw and then finish it using sandpaper stuck to a flat surface and moving the stock back and forth over it so its 100% flat.
