  1. That was what i was thinking aswell. A good rugged gun that will hold a half reasonable value on resale especially if you pnly buy a s/h one you probably wont lose much. Buy a new escort o/u it wont be worth anything like a lanber.
  2. I never broke in my a400 and its never failed to recycle. The least i stick thru it is 28g tho and upto 2oz 56g loads. You wont have a problem not breaking it in in the manner they suggest in the manual.
  3. I agree with you sitsinhedges. I would hazard a guess that Homeguard is quite new to the game tho as unfortunatly there is no real "all round" cartridge that suits everything. The other downside with cartridges is also what my gunshops sell here may not be available somewhere else altho the common likes of eley/kent/gamebaore tend to be widely available everywhere.
  4. I dont mind getting a dedicated goose gun.It wouldnt be an expensive gun anyhow. The reason im asking is ive tried 3" carts in bismuth and steel (BB) and pricked 2 birds already this year at less than 35 yards probably nearer 30. I havent tried the ITM yet through the 12 and from what ive read its obviously much better than steel/bismuth. However im temped by a ten bore but not entirely sure on the penetration side of things. If the penetration of a 10 bore is better at the same range than a 12 then the 10 bore seems the way to go if that makes sense.
  5. Starter motor i reckon if the earth lead to the engine is a good connection.
  6. Eley hb pigeon 6 1/2 shot. 30 & 32g load so to heavy for "official" clay shooting tho but i wouldnt be tempted in shooting rabbits with 28g of 7 shot.My opinion only and others will no doubt disagree....
  7. I went and upgraded my caesar to the new caesar impact sporting high rib. I just wanted something different and its so much softer to shoot than the DT10 but cant comment on the others youve suggested.
  8. Ive been there and heard this scenario before. On my shotgun cert renewal the issuing force said i had to have an alarm fitted.I went to BASC who told me to tell the police to refuse my certificate and they would take them to court. It is a police actioning body ACPO who says in the guidelines an alarm is reccomended but it is NOT a law just a reccomendation-needless to say i got issued my certificate and it was on the doorstep within 2 days after BASC had spoken to my shotgun licensing dept.
  9. Well it started by going to the toyshop looking for a cheap 10 bore... Looking through the cartridge container i came across a couple of 10 packs of Kent's impact tungsten matrix 2oz loads in no1 shot. Was just interested if anyone has used these or what any of the keen wildfowling reloaders has to say about them? It seems a big tungsten load through a 12 bore.I know its a 3 1/2 cart but looking into its more than pretty much any 10 bore tungsten cart load. Ive been seriously looking at buying a 10 bore for geese but probably only have 50-75 shots a year at them. Question is do i just use the 2oz itm's through my 12 or do i get a 10 for dedicated goose shooting..
  10. Just had a look and it appears the later 425's where back bored so had invector + chokes and early models only had invector. So 425's could be choked either way. lol
  11. Strange my shooting buddys 425 is invector+ and not interchangable with my 525 invector.
  12. None that i know of in august. Theres 2 down here in september but your obviously gonna miss them.
  13. If they are invector they wont fit 425's as they are invector+
  14. Set of 5 extended chokes for a caesar guerini 12 bore in good condition.Cased. Skeet 1/4 (ic) 3/8 (lm) 3/4 (mod) and full * i will throw in an extra skeet choke aswell so you get 2 skeets however the case will only hold 5.* I bought these as extras as my original CG gun came with internal chokes only.Ive now traded the gun in and bought a new caesar guerini which has 8 extended chokes supplied with it so theres no point in me keeping these aswell. I would like to get £75 posted if i can. They arent cheap new!
  15. Got a few invector chokes. Please note these are not invector plus but plain invector as used on the browning 325 and 525 and some miroku's and winchester's.All in good condition. Standard internal 1/4 choke £12 posted. Carlson extended skeet choke £17 posted Briley x2 cylinder choke £17 posted
