primers

Been loading .308 with KVB-7 russian primers for a while now, igniting Vit N140, seem quite consistant, looking at using CCI BR2's.

Any views on these primers ?

I have read that they are Wolf primers in a different box.

I use CCIs (standard not BR) and Remmington.......

 

Tried indentical loads in all aspects except primers..... (.22-250 - Necked fireformed brass- 33.3grns Varget - 40grn Vmax)

 

Zero exactly the same so really no difference......

 

EXCEPT........

 

 

I'm not sure if this is just my imagination....(?) but I seem to remember the primer pocket using the CCI had less powder residue in it.....

 

Wouldnt bother me using either.

Thats one thing with the russian primers, they do leave a lot of residue in the pockets.

I use BR2's for my .260Rem and 6.5Nemasis loads, never had any problems, always provide consistant accuracy.

 

I also use BR4's in my 6mm BR, and same there, very consistant accuracy so no complaints about them either.
