PSB2 Question

Recommended Posts

I purchased some PSB2 quite some time ago and just got some new stuff the other day.

The odd thing was that this new PSB2 that I've got is a different colour than the old stuff ??

The older PSB2 I must have got about 8 years ago perhaps more I'm not entirely sure

Has anyone loaded PSB2 and noticed a colour change? Or is it possable I've been loading something else Thinking it was PSB2

It looks the same cut and sizes as PSB2 but the colour is different.?? And looking at UEE's web sight the pinkish colour is correct for PSB2. It's defiantly the right cut for UEE PSB series powder.

The older batch that I purchased was clearly marked PSB2 and I've had no trouble with it loading as PSB2 But I was just a bit confused about the colour being different. I was wondering if they did a change of colour for PSB2 at some Stage in the past. Does anyone know ??

Cheers

what colour is the old PSB2?, all the batches ive bought in the last 10 years have been pinky coloured, excellent powder for 30-32g loads, it may be worth ringing Clay and Game to see if its been a different colour in the past

I just had a reply from an email I sent to UEE in Spain and they said that it has never beem made in any other colour than pink or rose the same as it is now. So I am left wonering what it was that I was using. ??

here is a pic of the powder I previously brought as PSB2 obviously it's not PSB2 but what is it ?

It's a little hard to make out from the pics on RIOs powders web page

There's no way I'll be ditching it as I've got a couple of light cast bullet loads for the 45-70 and the 8X56 Kropatschek that work great with it and one for the Rossi lever gun in 357 mag that's very very consistent as well. I was just reluctant to use it in the 12 bore because I was never quite sure of it. The new stuff I have is the right colour and I'll use that in the 12 bore OK and I guess I could use the crono to compare equal loads of both the old and the new powder in the Rossi to learn a little more about it. But I don't know if I'll bother.

I'm just curious as to what this older powder actually is. It's good stuff burns clean and is quite useful.

Thanks for the info I really do appreciate it
