I went to visit a friend today to measure her new cottage up for some plans for an extension, i found the place easier than i had thought and got there about 1/2 an hour early so went for a drive around the surrounding country side villages, lovely rolling country with very few houses just lots of fields and woods, saw a couple of roe and several muntys plus hundreds of pigeons, a shooters paradise.

Where is this place i hear you all asking, its a little village near Needham Market in suffolk called offton, i cant wait to go back and have another measure up. if any PW members live out that way, youre very lucky indeed

Mikee,

I know it well. If your down that way again, pop in for a bite at the LimeBurners, or drive into Needham Market and head for the Lion, both do cracking food.

Shooting around Offton and Somersham can be abit hit and miss like much of the area. There's a couple of very good game shoots in the area, and some of the Roe have very good heads (By Suffolk Standards). Munties are literally everywhere around the area and a real nuiscence on the twisty narrow roads.

There is a lot of medium sized woods out there leading up towards the Tollemarche estate and wattisham Airfield. Depending where you went in Offton, there is a nice little country lane literally got to by driving through the stream. Extremely narrow, tree lined and more rolling fields etc, with nobody around to just sit and watch the animal kingdom go by.
