Don't be so silly. The types who commit knife crime are not members of fields sports forums, nor do they buy such beautiful blades for ~40 quid. How does this sound: "12b sxs for sale, very little use looks nice" reply: Don't you think its a little irresponsible to be selling guns with all this gun crime going on in the country... hurstpol
Dont you think its a little irrisponsible to be selling these knires online with all the knifecrime going on in the country... also pretty sure that the length of the knifes in question are ILLEGAL !!!!!!!!!!! Prevention of crime act 1953 and subsequent criminal justice acts render certain articles as being offensive weapons see below. It is illegal to carry any sharp or bladed instrument in a public place (with the exception of a folding pocket knife, which has a blade that is less than 7.62 cm (3 inches)). A lock knife is not a folding pocket knife and therefore it is illegal to carry around such a knife regardless of the length of the blade. A lock knife means a knife which is similar to a folding knife, in that there is a spring holding the blade closed. However, a lock knife has a mechanism which locks the blade in position when fully extended, the blade cannot be closed without that mechanism being released. A lock knife is not an offensive weapon perse (because these knives were made with a specific purpose in mind and not as a weapon). However, possession of a lock knife in a public place without reasonable excuse is an offence. The definition of an offensive weapon is any article made or adapted for use for causing injury to the person, or intended by the person having it with him for such use by him, or by some other person. (N.B. this definition includes a disguised knife). But there is and has allways been a rider to these laws and it states it is only an offence to have it in public " without lawfull authority or reasonable excuse," so if you are on your way home after grolicking a deer or gutting some rabbits, you are ok, you should divest yourself of the weapon at the earliest opportunity, i:e dont go home drop off your gun and off to pub without packing you knife at home thats a no no. Hope this is clear and helps.
