Mike2
The TV and Radio codes of advertising practice treat them all the same way - see http://psa.bizhosting.com/whats_new.html Perhaps if enough people respond we might get them to change their view ? Mike2
Phoenix Shooters Association have sent their response to the consultation - you can read it from http://psa.bizhosting.com/whats_new.html Under the heading "Advertising pornography, Shooting Clubs and prostitution" With a copy (as requested) to the NSRA. Mike2
As far as I can see, only two clubs have responded to this insulting proposal. All of the (non-confidential) responses will be published on the BCAP website, so we'll be able to see who has responded, and what they have had to say. If more "grass roots" shooters responded to the BCAP "insult, politely asking that guns clubs (their words, not mine) and firearms be removed from the prohibited category, it would have a great impact. I wonder who will respond......
RC45
I took the oppertunity to write to my MP and ask him to look at it, my MP is a gun man. You can do the same http://www.writetothem.com/ Phil
Mike2
Phil, Great idea! Sadly we will be losing at least two very supportive MPs at the next election as they say they will be standing down - namely Martin Salter and Martyn Jones. My own MP is very anti, but I still use the "writetothem" to contact him regularly, and I'd have to say it's been very useful - despite his stance. Thanks for taking the time to do this for our sport - I hope many others have done likewise. Mike http://psa.bizhosting.com/whats_new.html Hi Mike, I think my MP Tim Boswell said he was retiring soon. It still helps if everyone lobbies their MP, if enough people take two minutes just to pass on their thoughts, who knows, it might raise awareness among Westminster. Cheers Phil
Mike2
Phil, Yes it DOES make a difference I agree - but don't take my word for it - go to http://psa.bizhosting.com/Interesting.html and read "A message from Bill Wiggin MP for shooters." near the bottom of the page. This gives you an idea of the MP's view of things.
