David BASC
Some forces do ask for mentoring for CF, these is no basis in law, i.e. there is nothing in the Firearms Act that mentions mentoring. However, some forces ask for it to help make sure you are safe. If you are a member of one of the shooting orgs get onto them for more advice. David
Guest topshot_2k
if you are considered safe enough for a .22lr there is no reason at all why you cant have a 17hmr without conditions.
David BASC
Or so you would think . logically. Unfortunately this logic does not always extend to firearms licencing officers...this is a big problem with UK firearms law- the law if OK - could be better i guess in some areas, but different FLD's use/ apply the law in different ways. dave dog
I am no fire arm law expert but this seems silly. One of the place where i shoot they would not let me use 22lr. But would with HMR as FLO officer said the HMR so safer than 22lr as i was close by ther are some houses, less chance of ricohet. They also felt that HMR was aa better option, safer from his point of veiw as the bullet would break up easliy if hit some thing over than traget. He steered me down that line, have no regrets in him doing so i have to say. Dave
