Cosd
Went out on my own yesterday and set up on a corner of a field where 2 flight paths cross on my friends permision. I set up with the wind blowing right to left as I couldn't set my decoys on the crops without damaging them. The crops are about 18" tall so I put out 8 plastic shells in a straight line in front of the hide just outside the crop on wobblers, and at the head of the pattern I just sat 3 more shells on top of the crop going away from the hide, one for a little more visibility and two to give a coma shaped pattern. I later tried the magnet and bouncer with dead birds. They didn't decoy all day. I had one woodie that came from behind and landed 3' away from the hide. I didn't want to blow it to dust so I stood up and it flared away, I went to take the shot but I had the safety catch on Birds were just flighting from tree to tree and not moving. Every time I took a shot they would flare, then 15 mins later all the trees were full again. I ended up with 16 woodies (10 picked up, 6 lost in crops), one collared dove and a crow which is my personal best, so I was very happy.
