Sam, this is the one i made...worked well

Dear Sir / Madam

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, I would like to firstly introduce myself to you. I am a **yr old responsible professional.

I live in *****, ************; I am a keen shooter and shoot on privately owned land by day and night and at weekends at two permissions. I am looking to seek written permission from farmers such as yourself to allow me to continue enjoying my hobby and sport more locally, again mainly on a weekend and sometimes by night.

I am a member of the BASC and have their liability insurance, as I stated earlier I am responsible and will respect your land, property and your wishes.

I would like to shoot only Vermin ((as described below; no game birds, pheasant or partridge unless rights given)) and I will remove any dead quarry from your land. Whilst on your property I would be glad to let you know if I notice anything unusual or untoward.

I enclose a stamped addressed envelope and a pre-prepared shooting permission form for you to complete and kindly return to me, alternatively please call the number below and I will be more then happy to arrange an appointment to visit you at your convenience.

The form details your permission and the type of quarry you consent to me shooting on your land, with a section detailing your preferred contact number.

Again I ask you consider my request that allows me to enjoy my hobby and at the same time help you in your control of vermin.

I hope you do consider giving me permission but if you find yourself unable to, would you also consider returning the form to me with "NO" written across it, I will know then not to approach you again.

If you do kindly decide to grant me permission to shoot your land and you have any drawings or details of your boundaries these would be very useful.

Thank you for your time and I possibly look forward to meeting you some time in the future.

Regards,
