stuey
As mentioned, getting my cocker in a few weeks. Already investigating some DVD's to help get an overview of training. Going to take her to a puppy obedience class - is this something that is recommended? If it is, should I use food as a means of rewarding the dog at such a class, and also at what age would be best to take the dog along? Not sure how long the course lasts, but presume that on completion I should then keep the basics going with a view to starting more focused training at about 6 to 8 months. Anyone got an tips or tried and tested methods from 12 weeks onwards? cheers Stu
rickyspringer
I would get the pup in a obedience class at 12 weeks old, great for socialisation, get the pup to face everything imagianble in its early days, that will stand you in very good stead, I would then make contact with your local gundog trainer, and gai some pointers and join a class of theres, take everything slowly with no pressure. cant wait to see your images, I am desperate for a pup....
