SteveH
I'm sure that a lot of people will disagree, but when I get a new pup I have it sleep in a crate in my bedroom. Dogs are pack animals and in my experience settle better at night when they have company. It also helps if they need to go out in the night (in which case I take them out, let them do their business and then put them straight back in the crate - no talking or fuss that will encourage attention seeking), because once they start to mess in their beds it can become a habit. As I said, this approach won't suit everyone but I have used it with my two labradors and have never had more than one disturbed night and hardly any overnight toilet training failures (in fact my older dog was toilet trained without a single accident, day or night - pity not all of his training went so easily!). teal27
I totally agree with steveH, being 8 weeks old shes use to having her mother around and taken to a strange house on her own can be a stressfull and frightening time for a pup, best to keep her with you and, move her gradually to where you want her to sleep over the next few months or better still sleep in or next to the room her crates in as this will put less stress on her when moving her crate around.
