banger316
Hi, Can anyone shed some light on this: Marlin 22lr. Had barrell screwcut and fitted a 22 silencer (parker) grouping all over the place at 50 yards. Moved into 20 yards to test on same target first shot 1" down and 1" to the right, same A4 target second shot 1" down but 1" to the left. At that range there's no way my shot was out, played around for an hour (must have used 30 rounds) but can't get any consistancy. Any ideas. monkeymagic1969
First check if it groups without the sound mod, if it doesn't get the guy who cut it to recrown the barrrel - sounds like he has made a ****up to me Edited June 26, 2009 by monkeymagic1969
banger316
Cheers I thought it might be that aswell. Although the moderator was second hand, and when I just checked it I couldn't get the extraction tool down the centre. Got it all apart now and found the baffles were in the wrong way round and it was caked in power residue. Should have checked before putting on rifle Wonder if bullet just catching the baffles. Cleaned now and reassembled correctly. I assumed it would be alright the first time. We have a saying at work 'assumption is the mother of all f### ups'. Gonna pop out and retry.
