springerman
Charles Boswell Live Pigeon Gun made c 1914. In their catalogue, this was advertised as “New Model” Best Quality Anson & Deeley Pigeon or Trap Gun. This non-ejector gun’s action is highly engraved and has side clips with the fences artistically carved with grapes and leaves. A third bite (cross bolt) does not show on the exterior of the fences. The straight hand stock has drop points and sunken, shield shaped panels up to the curved action; a gold oval finishes this quality stock. The barrels are 28” long with 2.75” chambers and topped with a wide, flat, file-cut rib. They have been so well sleeved it is difficult to see the join. Choked @ 15th (3/8) and 39th (full) the bores still measure .729 as proofed. The gun weighs 7lb 4oz. £780 or would consider p/ex for an English small bore SxS. This is priced low because it has sleeved barrels; similar, non sleeved guns are currently for sale at nearly 5 times this price! Pictures available, but can't work out how to attach to this ad.
