ProteuS
has anyone here taken their category b+e test, (trailer test) to tow heavier trailers if you passed your test after 97? i'm currently having to take mine as i need to tow a 2 ton boat and trailer but havent been able to find anyone who knows anything about them at all. from what i've read on the internet it appears to be basically a hgv test, with offroad manouvering and on road driving. anyone know anythign about them ? AmateX
Basically the test comprises of 1 hour on road driving with about 20mins of off-road manoeuvres. The manoeuvres are hitching and unhitching the trailer and reversing around a pole into a bay stopping the trailer in a 2ft box. He/she will also asks you some idiot questions like where does the oil go and how would you check if the load is secure. I have my test on the 27th June and have had 6 hours of lesions even though I have been towing for a while, you need the training so you will know how to drive for the test.
