Charleymay
Dear forum members we need your help in bending the ear of every politician about shooting in the lead up to the General Election. The Countryside Alliance has launched a Rural Manifesto, a wide ranging manifesto calling on the next government to ensure no further unnecessary restrictions on firearms or shooting in the UK, full support and sports funding for shooting sports and more recognition of shooting’s importance to rural tourism and the economy. We work hard to promote a positive image of shooting across the media, protect the rights of shooters in Parliament and introduce new people to shooting sports. • We oppose unfair proposals that will disproportionally affect game rears and shoot owners in sharing the costs of animal disease. • We continue to highlight and promote the rights of shooters in the context of proposals to increase coastal access in the current Marine Bill. • We strongly oppose the current advertising laws which prevent legitimate shooting sports being advertised because they are classed in the same category as prostitution. • We continue to media train game keepers so they can present the most positive image of shooting in the media. • Through National Shooting Week we’ve introduced thousands of new comers to shooting and attracted extensive media coverage. On a practical front we offer the most competitive and comprehensive shoot insurance package on the market - for syndicates and clubs, it’s just £20 person for the first year and only £40 thereafter. Individual membership of the Countryside Alliance is just £52, that’s just one pound a week. We will continue to invest in, support and promote your sport. Signing up to our Rural Manifesto doesn't cost anything and will strengthen the chances of achieving our goals. So please, go to countryside-alliance.org.uk and click on the Rural Manifesto button, or call 020 7840 9242 for a Rural Manifesto postcard and by signing up to our Rural Manifesto you will be joining the hundreds of thousands who have already pledged their support Kindest regards Rob Gray - Director of Campaigns The Countryside Alliance Posted by: Charley May - Policy Researcher The Countryside Alliance

Guest
I sent my local MP: Roger Gale a message to ensure that hunters and target shooters are not discriminated and that no more unjust gun laws are passed against the lawful abiding citizen. Charleymay
Hey guys, Thank you for signing up and thank you for lobbying your MP - that's what we need. If you could spread the word amoung friends, family and colleagues about the manifesto and signing up that would be ace. Cheers Charley
