Coney Basher
I have an Italian made 'Colt Cattleman' .44 cal muzzle loading revolver for sale. It has been converted to fire Nitro, by **** Kershaw and is in extremely good condition. 7.5" blued round barrel with a mint bore. Modified cylinder (takes shotgun primers) and firing pin ring. Beautifully colour case hardened frame and hammer. Comes complete with loading press and a quantity of shotgun primers. Face to face in Bedfordshire or I could arrange for it to be shipped to your local RFD at cost. I'm looking for £600.
njc110381
That's a pretty gun! What sort of muzzle energy do they produce? Can you get spare cylinders for them so you can get a faster reload or are they restricted? I quite fancy one of these but never wanted to do the black powder cleaning routine! Coney Basher
Well, the pistol is proofed at a max charge of 3.5 grains of Bullseye behind a 142 grain lead ball so (although I have never chronographed it) I would guess the ball is going at something like 975 f.p.s. (muzzle velocity). This (conveniently) equates to a muzzle energy of 300 ft lbs - more than a 38 special but less than a .357 magnum. If you wanted extra cylinders (assuming your Firearms Dept would allow it) I am sure **** Kershaw would make you some, for the appropriate fee of course. If you are interested, I can supply you with ***** contact details. C-B
