Hi all,..... I decided to buy an air rifle to do a bit of rabit shoting, I used to do a lot of it years ago with a spriger....

Oh how airguns have changed over the years, when I was a lad.............thats a whole differant post

any way Iv'e just got a rapid 12 mkII, Its a loverly gun, but now & again when I fire nothing happens,.......

so...... I take out the mag so I dont put another pellet up.... try again and it fires.....

I'm good mechanicaly & I cant wait to get it apart, so there's no real problem there,....

but if anyone has had this problem or knows what it is, a heads up would be appriciated

I posted on an airgun forum & didnt get much help,........ sorry all for been a sly off.......

so now I'm back to the best forum........ cap in hand groveling for help lol............

When you say nothing happens - what do you mean? Is it just failing to feed a pellet, and just firing air or is the hammer not actually being thrown forward? If its the former then its likely that your magazine isn't indexing, and it needs the little centre screw loosening a bit, or a good clean and oil. If its the latter it could be that you are not firmly pulling the bolt back, or that the trigger sear isn't holding the hammer back.

A bit more detail may help.

No pm recieved, but If the hammer isn't being released, then its probably not engaging at all - are you sure you are firmly and completely pulling the bolt back? Been a while since I owned a rapid and I can't for the life of me remember how it assembles....

If its anti-tamper then you're probably best taking it to theoben/a gunsmith anyway :D

The mk I was a lot easier to sort.
