peter-peter
i was out clayin on sunday, last clay dusted it,then noticed i had blown the choke out no dull report or anything, gun is only three weeks old shot 150 through it. In the past I have owned 2 escorts. they will have now been scrapped please read on. one I bought second hand. the second brand new. both didnt last 3 months this was 2 years ago. BUT. the problems with the new escorts seem to have been succesfully dealt with. they now recycle well. the choke problem. as with all multi choke semi's you can tighten the choke on a cold barrel. but 20 shots later the barrel becomes hot and expands. in the past i have had fabarm. 1 teknys 2 urikas. 1 390 beretta gold mallard. 1 benelli. 1 franchi. on all the guns the chokes came slack after getting the barrel hot. you should not over tighten the choke with the choke key. this can stretch the threads. I use 1.4 choke for all shooting. pick your favourite choke degrease the threads and put a drop of locktight on and nip up end of problem or if you like to keep changing chokes. get the barrel hot and just nip em up. a friend of mine bubbled a 3 week old urika through not checking the choke. user problem don't blaim the gun. BlaserF3
Another, better solution for chokes that work loose is to paint nail varnish on the thread, BUT LET IT DRY, before inserting the tube in the barrel. The nail varnish will give a little extra friction and lasts quite a while.
