Epic Fail
i was cleaning my stirling 22 today and noticed the serial number was A1065676 on the guin its self then i baught some bullets of a dealer and while looking at my cert i noticed the licence was missing the letter "A" it only had 1065676.... i will be informing my feo first thing on monday morning on the way to work but is my gun legally on my licence or is it illegal right now ? i bought it from a firearms dealer as the first rifle i bought... and the recipt i have from him and my licence before the variation does not have the letter "A" written infront of the serial number.. is there anything i need to do right now before i go to the feo? i was recently told a story of my club secretary having a badly stamped number on a rifle and it broke out holy hell help apprechiated thanks.. libs
Telling the FEO asap is the best course of action as you have mentioned. I remeber during my interveiw mine said very clearly that when transfering any gun make sure the serial# matches the cert when it is written in! Mitch
Yes Definately explain the situation to your fao, I would also go back to your dealer and ask him to make it right, after all it seams it was his mistake in the first place. its an easy mistake to make but should there be a problem in the future you need to be covered !! Epic Fail
there is no point going to the dealer as the licence has already been varied and it has been typed on my license
