cdb
It's been said that on a sporting shotgun the wider rib will help you pick up targets quicker. Anyone have an opinion on this?

cdb
Thanks, I figured that's the case with most kit. Anyone have an experience of doing ok with a thin rib, trying a gun with a wider rib, and then dramtically improving?
SidneyG
Like beretta said, personal preference. I shot wide ish parallel ribs for quite a while. Changed to a slim tapered rib 11-7mm. Didnt like it when I first looked down it, felt really wierd, but my shooting improved a lot. Wouldnt shoot a wide parallel now, seem to make the barrel look shorter when ou are looking down it in comparison. Just on my second 11-7 rib now. No doubt there will be people for which the reverse is true.
