hawkeye Posted July 15, 2014 Report Share Posted July 15, 2014 Had a day out yesterday with KW he rang me at 7.30am he had been out and about since 6am,and said he was having a mooch round some of my permissions that he shoots as well... He found one of the farms where the crows were flying into the beef sheds and eating the cattle meal.And also had seem a field of barley that the farmer had started to combine and the stubble covered in pigeons. I told he to get set up and then i rang the farmer to let him know. I had a couple of jobs to do first thing so it was 10am by the time i got there as i was stood talking to KW the birds were still coming in to the pattern, so while i got my seat and gun KW made the hide bigger and i joined him. We had steady shooting till about 2.30 pm then things dried up we had about 70 + crows and rooks to collect and dump.. A good days was had with a good mate and we had some cracking shots and a lot of mickey taking... Next visit is to the barley field when the farmer rings to say he has finished combining it...
