Lamber locking mechanism repair?

I'm going to see a man about a gun on Sunday, it's a Lanber and will be my first gun.

It's the right price and is reputedly a straight gun but the mechanism that breaks the gun

has a fault where it doesn't stay 'open' when you break it. You've got to make sure

the lever's still to the right side before closing it again.

I'm a complete newbie to gun ownership so have no idea of what's involved in fixing

this. Can anyone tell me if this is likely to be difficult/expensive/necessary to get fixed, and

who in Edinburgh/the Lothians/borders is the best for this sort of work?

[Edit] Edited to say it's the top lever spring that needs repaired [/Edit]

Thanks for any pointers,

Nial

For future reference it's the top lever spring I was talking about. I've been quoted

£70 plus vat to supply and fit and have been told it's a routine job.

That was an old established company in the centre of Edinburgh, there may well

be cheaper places about.

Nial.
