  1. I may well turn up on Sunday, I went to the one last week. Great fun
  2. My personal preference is .223 zeroed one inch high at 100 yards. While I understand all of the theory behind ballistics there is no substitute for being out in the field and taking the shots.
  3. I couldn't get on my regular permission so diverted to another one that I haven't shot for a while. There are several fields that are easily accessible and more that are walking only. Due to the weather tonight we pulled into one of the easy fields looking for bunnies on the hedges but they were none to be seen. Changing tack we put on the fox caller. After a few minutes we lamped the area in one sweep to see two bright orange headlamps sat still and intent on the caller at ninety yards or so. Switching the lamp off I stepped out of the car, slipping and cursing under my breath. As there was no decent footing I climbed up onto the running board of the truck and laid the rifle across the roof. A quick pass of the lamp showed that he hadn't moved an inch and that, as they say was that.........The X Bolt has drawn its first blood
  4. Staffordshie......... Applied in December and finally had my visit on Monday this week. To be fair though they have had the "new improved" computer system The officer who came out was great though, in about a week my shiny new FAC and Shotgun cert will be here with spaces for .22 .17hmr .223 and .308 woooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  5. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh but could he hit a running rabbit at 10 yards when it is at his 4 o'clock
  6. I thought that was over water not inland No in England its illegal to shoot wildfowl with lead must be non toxic, in Scotland however it is legal to shoot them over land with lead but you must use non toxic over water. Yep checked the regs and you are right In future no steel no shot (Makes note to self: 3 1/5 inch mags, steel shot to be put in pocket when on that ground)
  7. That is exactly what I meant mate. 60yds away with #6 shot Who do you think I AM??? John Wayne Thanks
  8. I hear the opposite...but have never tried it myself nice pics...................what shot did you fell them with? 34g No 6 lead shot (Rio Super Game). Didn't have time to reload with any other cartridge as the were only about 60yds away when we turned and saw them.
  9. Sitting there we heard a distinctive sound in the skies. Two reports followed and the result was..................... Yep two Canada Geese both clean kills as they flew over us at an altitude of 25 feet. They are 3 1/2 feet long and bloody heavy. By the time we had walked the 1/2 mile back to the Land Rover we had a right sweat on

My shooting buddy and me went to one of fields he has permission on. There were flags out so he decided to pop round to the farmers house and ask if he also owned the field opposite. While chatting to the gentleman the subject of our FAC's came up and lo and behold we were offered permission for 700 acres, all approved for firearms. All we have to do is turn up next Sunday at 9.30 sharp to meet his son and he will give us the tour of the land
  11. ****...i seen some things but 'stuff' me.......fox calls in sterio ........don't forget to get the flyers out 1st !!! & glitter ball !! Your wish is my command
  12. I was thinking of the Spice Girls greatest hits followed by Goldie looking chain
