  1. I make that 10-1 for the Logun. Now all I've got to do is find one!!
  2. Unfortunatly it's the new one. My brother had the old one 30 yrs ago and it was good but as a ten year old kid I couldn't cock it. However me and my lad get loads of fun out my .22 typhoon. Best £50 I've spent for a very long time. I even killed a big fat woodie with it. Trouble was, I was aiming to miss !!!!
  3. Nice link Stevie P. Oh and by the way, I have 2 Bisley moderators and they are both absolutely rubbish. Complete waste of money. Don't bother with them
  4. Westbury Field Sports. Great people who always go that little bit further
  5. The one thing I have against the S16 is the weight. My HW77k is heavy and it puts me off using it anywhere other than the garden. The take down is for anywhere but the garden so weight is crucial. I will get my local gunshop to make enquiries and if there is to be a new lighter version I'll wait. Suprised at the lack of support for the Brocock. Just goes to show.. you can't believe everything you read!! Thanks for all your replies.
  6. So as a big strong Essex Girl, you quite like it then !!??
  7. Stevie P, The Air Arms TDR and the BTAS Verminator are just that bit too much money but I do appreciate that they are probably both better guns than either the brocock or the logun.
  8. I've decided I quite fancy a PCP and a take downat that . So having looked around and read the forums I pose the question Brocock Enigma or Logun S16S ?
  9. a very good bit of work young man, can I ask have you tested FAC/pellets I have a FAC Rapid II and have yet to find the right pellet for bunnies, in and out a beer can at 40 yards with a bisley mag but not so hot on bunnies take your point and should get a chrony and do the job right Sorry Pavman, missed your reply. Thanks for it I have no FAC rated air rifles but have tried the Bisley magnums with very poor results.
  10. Thanks Stevie P, I'll give them a go
  11. Buy one. Brilliant for the money
  12. Oh, and just to add balance to the story, I also had a Cometa 50 for my 8 yr old daughter, a 100 for my 10 yr old son and a 300 before my 400 fenix. They were all rubbish !!!
  13. Well I've got a Cometa Fenix 400 and 220, a Weihrauch HW77k and a Webley Stingray 11 XS. All less than 5 months old. Weihrauch is by far the best but is very very heavy. However it was also over three times your budget if you include the scope. The 400 Cometa is a fab gun all round but the springs don't last that long and I haven't yet found anyone who makes replacement one that actually fits. The Webley is equally as good as the cometa but also has a built in moderator so it is slightly quieter when hunting. £150 ? Cometa Fenix 400 every time or a seccond hand Weirauch from someone you trust.
  14. I have a Combro 625 MK4 which costs about £40. It just clips on the end of the barrel, fir a pellet through it and it gives velocity and power readings at the touch of a button. They say it is accurate to within 1%. Only disadvantage is that you can't take the readings at different distances. I use it for pellet testing and rifle tuning and I think it was a very good buy for £40.
  15. I have four Hawke Map 6 Pro scopes. 3-9 x50, 4-16 x50 and 3-12x40. I much prefer the 4-16's. However currently very tempted by an MTC Viper. Just can't decide which one!!!
  16. My .22 Hw77 is only a couple of months old. However in tests of 9 different pellets with a Combro Chrony the following was noted. I measured ft/lbs, velocity in M/s and relative accuracy @15m 1st place Eley wasp5.5 2nd H&N Field target trophy 3rd Air Arms Hunter 4th RWS Superpoint 5th Marksman Dome 6th Crosman Accupell 7th H&N Diablo Sport 8th H&N Silhouette 9th Bisley Long Range Gold However My Cometa fires the same pellets in a different order prefering the H&N and the Air Arms over the Wasps. However when you weigh in what they cost, the Wasps win hands down every time. The points versus domes for Hunting argument has rumbled on since God was a boy and everyone has their own preference. My Advice, spend £40 on a Combro and grab yourself as many different pellets as you can. Have a load of fun plinking in the garden with your Chrony and a piece of paper and see what happens. I'm about to order another ten different pellet types to see what happens !!! Have fun...
  17. I read somewhere that the mk7 has recently been launched as a full power version of the mk6.
  18. Ox springs advertise that their No2 fits. Don't be fooled. It will take you a month of Sundays with a file and God knows what else. When mine went slack I gave up trying to fit the Ox. I stretched the existing spring and with a bit of Abbey moly,Hey Presto Better than new. By the way I have tested over 20 different pellet types through mine with a Combro chrono. Best pellets? H&N Field Target Trophy and Air Arms Hunter Point came out slightly above the powa-pell. Several others come out well and for plinking the 5.5 Eley Wasps are fab. However the Nickerson/AGS that the importers recommend... cr*p...worst pellets I've fired for velocity and power and it could well have been them that knackered my spring in the first place. All my rifles hate them. Go buy one..
  19. I have the full barrel 400 and I love it. But the springs do go off quite quickly and that put me off buying another one with a silencer. I bought the new Webley Stingray 2 XS instead. little bit more money but equally nice gun to use. Supposedly Webley Springs are very good so we'll wait and see.
  20. thankyou Outlaw. I'm looking forward to catching up on a whole lot of new tech and making the acquaintance of like minded people
  21. Hi all, Havings started shooting again in July after an abscence of thirty years, Pigeonwatch has served my research needs very well so I thought I should Join. Me & my son have thoroughly enjoyed revisiting my childhood passion. Last weekend we we had our first 'live' shoot on a friends farm. 13 pigeons later we came home covered in blood and cow pooh. loved it !!!!! Would welcome any further shooting opportunities in my area,(Trowbridge, Wiltshire) not neccessarily live, Our garden has max range of 14 mtrs so anything a bit longer would be nice. Have joined BASA so suitably insured etc. Would also like to here from local clubs/ranges with view to joining. Wish to teach my son the right way etc etc.. Cheers all
