  1. An add on to Spaniels tip about using a corner is to put down as many dummies as you have, fairly close together.

This ensures that the dog will find something as soon as it gets into the area. As everyone has said, confidence is everything and this helps to build it.

  2. I saw something I have never seen before last Friday.

Driving along a narrow country road, I saw something large in the middle of the road.

When I got closer I discovered it was a buzzard on a cock pheasant.

The sight of my motor bearing down on them split them up, the buzzard flying off and the

pheasant running into the wood at the side of the road.

I know they regularly take poults but this was a full grown cock pheasant.

Glad I arrived when I did.

  3. Thanks guys.

All I would say is go for it.

I was pretty worried about the exam idea too but it is easier than you might think, as long as you

read the material they send you.

Once you start the papers, you realise that you do know the answers and it is multi choice.

The shooting test is fairly easy if you do not let your nerves take over.

The safety test is how we should all handle a firearm anyway so you just need to tell it as it is.

    Well worth the effort.

  4. Hope I have done the right thing.

Went to a local garage today and traded in the Jeep Cherokee 2.8 Auto for a Shogun 2.5 Sport Equippe.

I have been quite happy with the Jeep. Only complaint is that there is very little room in the back for

the dog. Shogun certainly solves that one.

Picking it up on Thursday once they get my number switched over.
