No experience of field working one but my cousin had one when I was younger and they are very loyal dogs.
Trained properly I reckon he should "follow you around like a dog".

Wind getting pretty strong on the Moray Firth coast just now.
Also very cold. The snow and sleet that's forecast might just be on its way.
Typical. Soft weather all season and as soon as it ends the winter starts!

Hi Larson and welcome

Well done.

PS I meant to say this is a well written report and well done.

Reading well written reports of other peoples outings is almost like being there with them.
You can almost see the sight picture through the scope.

Rabbits seem to be breeding all year round in North East of Scotland.
I have not been ferreting for a few years now but often see young ones when out with the rifle.
Saw a few last week which must only have been a couple of weeks old.
The winters are definitely getting warmer and wetter around here. Even hard frost is a novelty.

Thanks everyone.
I agree with the comments about the site. I have been looking round most of the shooting sites and this seems to be one of the best.
There is a lot of sensible comments posted along with some good banter.
Looking forward to playing my part.
Cheers.

Hi All
I have been watching the forum for a while and thought it was time I joined in.
I live in the North East of Scotland and have been shooting for about 35 years.
Apart from shooting with guns, I also like to fire off a camera now and again with wildlife being my favourite subject matter.
My guns are a Browning 425 o/u, a CZ .17 HMR and an air rifle.
In November 2006 I fulfilled a life long ambition and got myself a Black Lab. His name is Jet and he is now 18 months old. His training is coming on well (in my humble opinion) and we have done a bit of rough shooting this season.
Look forward to chatting away with some of you.
Jim
