20 odd dead birds and a magnet with dead birds on close to the hide works well for me...
-
Vortex are very good.

Never quite shot a semi auto as well as a decent o/u... plus picking up all the empties after a good day on the pigeons used to **** me off....

I have one on order since Nov. Due this month. How long did you have to wait for it?
A day.
Phoned up Braces in Bristol, he got me one the next day.

They will be called when the time comes, for best price.

Had a good look and feel of both rifles at Braces in Bristol yesterday....
Didn't like the feel of the Sauer at all...
Blaser R8 felt like it was moulded for me !!!
Decision made.
In the meantime, picked up my Mauser M12 Max... absolutely impressed with it overall... looking forward to setting it up.

Hampshire is about a 10 month wait.... be it application, variation or renewal.... dreadful service :(

My gen2 sticks still work OK after a year of use... I only now use them when Sat out ambushing bunny's at night with the rimfire... I find them next to useless for stalking. Admittedly they are better than shooting freehand but quad sticks are by far a better option.. I made mine over a year ago at a cost of £8, rock steady, durable, quicker to deploy and it will only cost another £8 if I need to replace them.

Cracking day it was too, thoroughly enjoyed it :0)

Bit pointless mentioning it then really....
Ref my needs;
I would like a short, lightweight, all season work horse for woodland and open farm land stalking.
I prefer a pistol grip for comfort and control.
The ability to change barrel and caliber future proofs the rifle for me.
Accuracy and reliability are obviously a must also.

I have shot them all and just this week reviewed the M12 Max. The actual amount of money you want to spend is a rather imprortant factor but you wont see any real accuracy difference between any of them, just ergonomics and handling.
I know which gun I'd own and which stock I would choose but without knowing your exact needs and budget, couldn't possibly comment
And your verdict on the m12 Max ??

Thanks all

Ive bought a Mauser, was looking at a pre owned Blaser R93, loved tge straight pull but cost did it for me..
The Mauser is a Blaser barrel and a great gun. In your position id go Blaser
Picking up my Mauser m12 Max in 2 weeks... looking forward to getting some range time

Just over a year old. Filled with expanding foam for durability, which works !! As I found out after driving over them :0/
