Do you think it could be different for boats on the coast? A narrow boat would stay in the UK, we would be popping over to france etc. It's something I would look into if there were a way of doing so.
-
Then either you or your dad can sell them and include details
of both the licences on the letter to police to have them removed,
as for the boat I would get more advice if a cabinet can be secured
then is there a problem unless they steal the whole boat?
I knew a guy lived on a converted single decker bus had a shotgun
with the cabinet welded in,he now lives in a mobile home and hasnt any
problems?.
just had a thought unless your moving between counties with
the boat then maybe not
I think that was the main issue, I live on the south coast and we go sailing a lot, so we could easily be in france within 14 hours.

Basically the guns are in my name, but are registered at my fathers address. They're on my certificate but down on his also as being in his care, if that makes sense.
I have looked into keeping them on the boat and it is one huge NO NO

I am looking at selling up my shotguns, as I have moved onto a boat. The guns are currently kept with my father, he is the registered keeper, I am the registered owner. I now live 150 miles from my parents house and i'm not there very ofter so what I want to know is if I organise the sale of the gun, do I have to be present for the sale or is there anyway my father can deal with that without having to transfer all the guns over to him first?

I like the look of that! It's a toss up between that and a 6x40. I know the AO does help but does it really make that much difference when out shooting? I have only ever used non AO scopes.

Hi All
I used to live in Northampton and had pletny of places to shoot, but have since moved onto a boat in Portsmouth Harbour. As a result, I have to keep the shotguns up north with my parents and only have the air rifle and nowhere to use it.
Anyone know of some land that I can shoot on? Don't mind if it's for small game/vermin or just target. I just need to get out and shoot once in a while!
Thanks in advance

My current scope is a Nikko Sterling 3x9-40, which unfortunately, has damaged crosshairs.
I'm looking to replace it with a reasonable quality scope, but i'm not sure which to go for. I have been looking at either another 3x9-40 as this seemed a good all rounder, or just go for a 4x40 or 6x40. I rarely used the scope past 6x40 anyway as I found it a little less accurate past there, also the image quality not as sharp. This could have been down to the fact it was a well used scope and has seen better days.
Anyway, I mainly use the rifle for plinking and occasional vermin control, mainly in fairly close quarters (not in fields so long reach isn't really needed) and i'm looking to keep the price down as much as I can, say up to £50 tops as I just don't use the rifle enough to warrent anything special.
Let's hear your thoughts....

It's a full metal exact replica, battery powered. I will have to see if i can find a dealer to talk to.

Hi all
I wasn't sure exactly what section to post this in.
I have an M15 replica airsoft gun which i no longer need but am unable to sell because of new laws. Basically what i want to know is when people say only autherised dealers can sell these guns, does this mean i can take it to an autherised dealer to sell it on my behalf?
If not is the only way i can sell it by breaking it for parts or spraying it bright orange?

I would but i'm in northants for the next 3 days. Cheers anyway!

Perfect! I intended to buy them online but need one for this sunday so will be buying one from the shop! One shop said they were £4.50 each!!! Sod that, managed to find one for the 1100 for £1 so will get that and get some spares online.
Thanks!

Hi all
I am after a replacement o-ring for my Remington 11-87 semi auto. I have been told by a gun dealer that he believes the 1100 o-ring is the same as the 11-87. Does anyone know fit this is the case?
I have had a look for part numbers to confirm but with no luck, could just be because i'm not the best when it comes to finding things

Can anyone put a rough value on these cartridges for me?

Someone has pm'd me thinking they're 1925-1930. I'm not sure they're that old mind :s

I have some boxes of Cordings fillbag paper 12b shotgun cartridges and was wondering if anyone knew what they might be worth? They're old but in extremely good condition.
The box is full and all cartridges have never left the box.
Hope someone can help.

Hi all
I moved to Gosport about a year ago and have finally got my SGC certificate sorted and aquired some guns from my farther, I used to shoot with him a few years back before sailing took priority!!! Now i'm living right next to the boat and have more spare time on my hands i want to get back into busting clays!
I have found details for Fareham shooting ground on the internet and think it's worth heading down and sorting out membership. I was just wondering if there are any other members in the local area who could let me know what it's like up there or maybe even allow me to be their guest for a shoot to see the club.
Also if anyone knows of a smaller club, the kind that don't advertise on the web, the one i used to shoot at when i lived up north had few members and was set up accross a large feild so had much more atmosphere between regulers, meant a much more enjoyable and sociable shoot, i have never been to one of the bigger shoots!

dont use spacers mate as it needs to be flush with the wall and no gaps i believe
I thought as much, good idea to stand it on plywood, il go see what i have knocking about in the shed.

Ok, another quick question. Im about to bolt the cabinet to the wall. It sticks out at the bottom because of the skirting board,, can i just use spacers around the bolts or should i take a bit of the skirting board out so you cant get for example a crowbar behind it?

Wish i had the spare money as the sweet 16 has to be my favoriate air rifle!!! Good luck with the sale!

Brilliant, im at the pont i need to phone the FEO to organise his visit to the house so i was just checking i havnt missed anything that could delay my application. It is mounted fairly out of sight of visitors to the house and unless they're hiding something from me my housemates all have clean backgrounds. All good news

The problem with putting one on for the hell of it means once a lock goes on the door it becomes a 'bedsit' or self contained room which means issues with tv licensing and things like that and i want to avoid doing so if i can. Also its a bit different to sharing with a partner as its with a couple of people i havnt known that long.

Hey
Just to introduce myself, im james! I used to live in Northampton and went clay shooting at braifield with the old man. I moved down to the south coast (portsmouth area) recently and am now gettin my license sorted.
I currently have (registered to my farther untill my license is sorted) a Beretta 12g semi automatic and a .410 single barrel bolt action of which i dont know the make! (I will start a thread to see if anyone can identify it when i have them down here with me)
I also have a Weireach HW35e with a 3-9x40 scope and silencer.
I am hoping to find a good local clay club and if i can somewhere i can do a bit of hunting!

Open practice ground in Hampshire
in Clay Pigeon Shooting
Posted
Hey all,
So I've been googling and scanning on the forum and struggling to find somewhere, but I'm trying to find a shooting ground for clay pigeon that runs open practice during the week. The kind with traps you can operate yourself and use a counter, like Sporting Targets in Northamptonshire. I usually shoot in Northamptonshire but wanting to have a day out with some friends in Hampshire.
