  1. My son was given a SGC and a FAC while was 14. It just says on the SGC that he can't buy a section 2 gun till his 17th birthday. (He couldn't own a section 2 shotgun so he has a section 1 13 shot Remmy 1100)
  2. The way it was explained to me was this: People make mistakes and deadly accidents happen. Therefore rules need to be made to minimise the risk. Anyone can be distracted or foget and break a rule, but in order to accidently shoot someone, you have to break three rules at once: 1. Don't have a gun loaded until you're ready to shoot. Having a flag proves to you and those around you that the chamber is empty. 2. Don't point the gun at anything that you not prepared to shoot. This includes when the gun is in a slip or case. 3. Keep your finger away from the trigger until you're aimed at your target. They're really hot on safety rules at PSG shoots and I had just assumed that it was the same in other disciplines. Clearly not.
  3. Look up VistaPrint.co.uk You design your own cards on line. Very cheap and very quick. Thoroughly recommend them.
  4. I'm very new to shooting. My first experience was when I attended the UKPSA basic course. After two full days of training, safety was fully instilled in me. Then when I bought my first gun, I went along to the local clay ground to try it out and I was staggered by the lack of regard for safety. I presumed that what I had learned was normal but there were people in the car-park shouldering each others guns and muzzle sweeping everyone, nobody had safety glasses on, no flags are required in semi-autos... The list goes on. I haven't been to any other clay grounds so I don't know if this is typical or not. What's it like where you shoot?
  5. Thanks for all your replys. There wasn't much choice at my local shop. I've got some 34gram Rio. I'll see what they're like tomorrow. The gun is Saiga 12 (Russian). Apparently they need a fair bit of wearing in, but after that they'll take any round.
  6. I've got a new semi-auto and it needs breaking in before it will cycle relyably. Many cartridges claim to be low recoil but I want a few hundred high recoil ones! Presumabley cheaper ones use more primative technology and would therefore be better for me. It can chamber up to 3". Any particular brands?
  7. Whoa! That is some weapon! Not quite legal in the UK though. My son and I have taken up shooting "Practical Shotgun" at a club. It's all about knocking down multiple targets quickly and reloading against the clock. The other guys all use high capacity guns (on a FAC). A section 2 shotgun just isn't competitive. Besides, my son is 14 years old so he's not allowed to own a regular shotgun but he can have a FAC shotgun! I've been recommended somewhere to get magazine extensions but nowhere local to me. That's why I need a mail order firm.
  8. Hi folks. Can anyone recommend where to get a magazine extension for a Remington 1100. I need one long enough to give 14 shots total. It needs to be mail order. Most of the ones that I've found are in the US and don't ship to the UK. Also, some say 8-shot and mean 8 extra while others say 8 shot but they mean 8 in total (ie 3 extra). Cheers
