Wot,all of you are being silly...can,t i
Looks like you had some cleaning to do aswell

surely if you are in a very populated area and you need to kill the fox without any fear of rickosa and it kills the fox out right then you have probaly done the best thing
-
hope you have a good day

And that about sums it up - you won't get past instinct I'm afraid, aggression is natural to these dogs and similar breeds, it was bred into them.
Why do you think the low lifes have staffs and similar for some kind of protection? it's because they are so good at it, it comes naturally to them.
So im a low life am i

Sorry i did'nt realise that staffys are the only dogs to ever attack anybody not all dogs are good what eva the breed

At the end of the day Staffy's were bred for fighting and bull baiting - in my mind that breeding has never gone away and I wouldn't trust one ever. In my mind they aren't any different to any of the other bull terrier breeds, and like has been said already; most owners seem to have them as an accessory to make them look 'hard' - but at the end of the day if they need a scary dog they aren't actually very 'hard' are they?!
Given the number of people who have been attacted, or their dogs attacted, by these animals I'm surprised they aren't controlled more and have to be muzzled at all times...going another step further with Martin's foam baseball bat analogy - I shudder to think about a kid in a pram at eye level with one of those animals when it turns nasty.
The dog was bred for fighting and wounding - lovely pet...hmm....
still a long way from my original posting but every1 has their own point of view even if it is blind

Not polite enough it would seem!
Harry
no it was very polite and i know who you mean

Look people, I said that it was down to the owners in my previous post, I just dont trust any staffordshire bull terrier now I dont want to take the risk of my dog being attacked by one again.
Some people like them some people dont and I am the one who dont like them.
All fine putting pictures up of them its not going to change the way people look at them.
Mean look
This is my dog who was attacked by a staffordshire bull terrier. Has it changed your mind on how you look at Staffordshire bull terriers now? I guess no.
Staffordshire bull terriers will not be good in the field they were not bred to retrieve and bring back the quarry you want to shoot.
looks like you just had bad luck anyway supose like most thigs it a topic like marmite i just wounderd if they would be good in the feild on as mine has nearly caught a few rabbits and they have a bit of terrier in them
Sorry to hear that you have had bad experince's with staffys

-
good luck with sgc waiting for my referee to fill out their bit so i can send off for mine
Nice to see some pep's from surrey

My staffy died 4 years ago miss him every day , best dogs in the world , all down to poor owners .
Sorry to hear that

I dont want to offend anyone but our sport suffers from judgmental & intorerant people wanting us to confirm to their percived ideas of wrong and right,
Its time we all realsised that different people like different things.
Its easy to comment or even critersise on a forum without attacking people
Harry you seam to infer Pierre's a macho fool who wants people to think hes hard..... at the same time you have a can of wupass as your sig, now you may have it for a differant reason but it gives the same impression, again you may be a great guy so i say this just to demonstrate how others may be intolatant towards you... which of course would be wrong
This topic was about a bloke wanting to hear thoughts on his dogs suitability to do a job, I dont think for one minute he expected to take **** of people for his trouble....... I like most others like a good strong debate, but lets not make it personal.
Ken
ps i cant spell it doesn't embarrass me so dont bother
Thank you my point exactly
-
And what if someone came towards you 'giving it large' when you don't have the dog with you...............but a loaded gun?
Anyway this has come a long way from what my original posting was about
-
i dont fight with weapons drop the gun and get stuck in if needed
-
nice one windknot for giving her a go
-
I would be proud to own a dog that is well manered, but prepaired to protect its owner, that indeed is why they were domesticated, indeed its the owner who needs to be responsible
Thank You
-
I wouldn't be proud of owning a dog that could not be trusted implicitly, and had the ability to inflict so much damage. Why should other people have to 'watch out'?
if you came toward me giving it large he would have you but you walk over calmly then you aint got a problem the dog is doing wot it would do in the wild he feals that he is protecting his pack (family) it is simply in a dogs nature to do this so yes i am proud to own a dog that would protect me or my girlfriend
she aint afraid to walk to a black alley with him as she know she is safe!!!
-
thats down to the owner then my dog is brilliant with other dogs and people unless he thinks that they are a threat to my family or him then they have to watch out

But he shot it in the body so it took a few minetes to die, bignole was saying about shooting the fox straight in the head so it would die instantly
Plus a dog is a pet a fox is vermin
