  3. A MAGLITE! Preferably the 4D one!
  4. Thanks for your replies fellas. Its good to get the views from both of a subject. Like i said before, im just really enjoying my shooting and just see it as a very good hobbie to have. Who knows what might happens in the future, i may take the plunge into comptetion shooting (if i get good enough!) Tom
  5. I dont think i'll be entering any comps just yet. Certainly wont be shooting "birds only". lol At this stage i'm just really enjoying my shooting. Maybe comps will come futher down the track. Didnt mean to start one of those pointless threads, just didnt have a clue what it ment thats all. Tom
  6. Thanks for that Cat. Thats a big help. Not that im at a standard to be entering comptetions,(best score 34 out of 50) i was just curious thats all. So do people enter "birds only" just to dodge paying an entrance fee?? Tom
  7. Please excuse my ignorance fellas but ive only just started clay pigeon shooting and was just woundering what the competition classes are and the relevant score for each class. Also, ive read on here people talking about shooting "birds only". What does this mean??? If anyone could shed any light on this id be very gratefull. Cheers, Tom
  8. If that had of been me caught on camera throwing "3 or 4" punches to some bodies head, id be doin a stretch in her majesty's hotel! What a joke! Tom
  9. Top gun, no pun intended!!! Welcome matey, Tom
  10. Hi fellas Lucky shot, hmr, Yeah it was leslie hickman. She was really nice. Just had a casual chat which helped me to relax a lot. She said that i'd have my licence within 3 weeks, AWESOME!!! Frenchieboy, my dad got his SGC a couple of months ago so i started clay pigeoning with him then. Absolutely love it. I'm not doin too bad at it either (well i think so anyway, haha) i hit my best score on wednesday when we went, i hit 34 out of 50 in sporting and shot 19 down the line. I'm defo already addicted. I'm shooting my dads lanber at the minute when we go so hoping to get a bit better with that before buying a new shotgun, so i imagine thats were the expense comes in, hahaha! I'll still be shooting regularly with the old man because its a kinda father son thingy we can do together but still looking forward to shooting with my friends who also have they're licence. Thanks very much for the interest fellas, makes feel really welcome to the forum, even tho ive been on the forum for a while, lol. At least ill be able to get involved with more of the posts when i get to do more shooting. Tom
  11. Good evening all, just like to say thanx very much for all the advice. My FEO visited today and she was brilliant. Wasn't at all made to feel interogated and was very relaxed. Just to let you all know that i'm expecting to recieve my SGC in 2 - 3 weeks, so i'm buzzing. I feel so privilaged to get one and looking forward to getting into the sport. My dads said he'll give me the lanber that i've been shooting with him so thats a start. Theyre a good beginner shotgun. I'll keep that for a little while then start to look for a new one when the times right. Once again lads, thanx alot :( and hope to chat more on the forum. Tom
