  1. You will lose velocity (c. 30-50fps per inch, depending on powder choice, charge and bullet weight), but you gain balance and lighter weight. So the answer is what you want to do with that trade-off. I would avoid the T8 as they decay and are not good value next to the P8 or ASE line. ASE would be my choice, but if you get a P8, make sure it's the Compact - makes little (no?) difference to moderation but is considerably lighter which means much better balance.

    I had a 204 for a while, didn't shoot foxes with it because it only really liked the 32 grain bullet. They hit very hard, on a bunny or other very lightly-skinned animal. Personally I'd avoid on fox unless using 40gr ammunition. The 22-250 is a better option IMHO if you want a faster round than 223, or potentially 243 too. But, for me, 223 works well
