  1. There are definitely foxes and badgers in the garden, I previously sat up and saw the fox though due to a calamity of errors I missed the little critter. The PIR and sounder should be ok I was just wondering if something smaller (rats, stoat?) may have ate the crow undetected but the missing wire would push me towards something bigger. Left the head as shown above and it was gone this morning, I was away and unable to listen out to see the culprit. I should get a another look at the weekend and will post the result. As a footnote I lost 5 chickens a few months back which is why I need to protect my boundaries!
  2. Put a crow out as below though it had wire running from its leg to the metal pipe. Have done this previously to bait a fox which I have yet to shoot but have now set up a PIR to wirelessly trigger a sounder by the bed. First night the frost was that heavy the sensor didn't trigger and crow was gone, no remains just pulled from wire which was also around leg. Next night no frost and checked sensor was working before going to bed, didn't hear sounder though I may have set it too quiet and may have slept through it (good or what!).. Checked crow and this is what I found, would a fox have done this? The bottom of crow is gone no trace and the wire has been pulled so hard it has came off the pipe?
  3. Called with supplier today, he was aware of the problem which came to light with his latest batch. He supplied me with longer winged bolts which work fine. He also pointed out that the crow decoys have metal holder where as the pigeons are plastic, both are new batches.
  4. What length is your threaded bolt or diameter of your bouncer/magnet rod? I know sounds bad but I couldn't think of any other way of wording it!
  5. Just got a couple and when I tried to fit them to my floaters the threaded 'bolt' isn't long enough to grip the floater rod. Is this a common issue or do the hypaflaps come with different fittings. Also noted previous posts re the plastic threads and they do look a little weak? Will contact the supplier in the morning who also supplied the floaters but was just looking any info beforehand.
  6. Please forgive me if this is a stupid question. Was out the other day for my first go at crows/pigeons, was very windy and only got 2 shots off which both missed. The crow in question was virtually stationary in the wind and I aimed straight at it, should I allow for windage? Crow 30yds away, strong right to left wind (guessing 20-25mph?), No6 30g. Can't find any ballistic charts showing windage so a rough figure would help.
