  1. is land still available

  2. I posted hear a couple of years ago about a piece of land I own in Kent. We purchased it because we found it hard to find new places to shoot myself. If anybody else wants to use it, that can be arranged. When I first posted here there wasn't much interest, but a couple of guys did go down there and one of them who went specificly for pigeon reported bagging 12 birds in a morning if my memory serves, although I've never done so well down there myself!
  3. Rumour has it that there may be some great opportunities for pigeon shooting in Scotland this year: "Politicians in the Scottish Parliament have been plagued by pigeons who have set up home on the rooftops at the new Holyrood complex." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/4479107.stm For those stuck down here in the South East who'll take any shooting that they can get, my woods in Kent will be available for shooting from around the end of the month if anybody's interested.
  4. The same thing happened to me. I was merrily using their site for about a week. I got into a debate with some of the regulars and I gave as good as I got but all of a sudden my account got barred. Up to that point I had been corresponding with the admin but since then they've just ignored my emails. Their "notice for new users" makes it sound rather exclusive.
  5. Eh? I only posted on this forum because the owner of the site asked me to. I originally just sent him an email saying I had some modest woods if anybody was in need. P.S. Rumour has it that there may be some great opportunities for pigeon shooting in Scotland this year. "Politicians in the Scottish Parliament have been plagued by pigeons who have set up home on the rooftops at the new Holyrood complex." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/4479107.stm
  6. I'm impressed with all the interest in this thread. I've had a few genuine inquiries from people looking for a different venue to shoot. As we've seen in this thread, people aren't exactly offering their land to shooters left right and center - ironicly least of all the critics of my original post! If anybody wants somewhere else to shoot -- airguns or anything else -- you're welcome to try my woods in Kent - just send me an email. Finding new places to shoot needn't be difficult if us shooters make arrangements to pool and share our resources. Don't worry, it's not communism... Yet!
  7. I said I paid 35K plus interest, Are you being deliberately dishonest or are you just failing to read my posts properly? Anybody who is not aware that just 1 acres of good woodland in Kent with shooting rights can cost 10K or more is either just an idiot who blatantly does not know what they are talking about or is simply being dishonest. I won't ask which it is in your case. Now will you please stop being selfish and help us all have a piece of that "500 acres for £100 per year" that you mentioned? P.S. I do have a humble but very nice 5 acres available for shooting in North Wales and another 5 in East Kent if anybody is interested.
  8. If it's that easy, don't be selfish, please share the details -- I have a long list of people looking for land to shoot on. P.S. I have a humble but very nice 5 acres available for shooting in North Wales and another 5 in East Kent if anybody is interested.
  9. The email to which you refer was a maliciously posted on a different forum, and it was posted by somebody who did in fact contact me pretending to be genuinely interested. He made me a specific offer and I replied to that specific offer. I even put quote marks around some of the parts I was quoting from his original message to me. You've been so persietent about this point despite me repreatedly making it clear that I am not charging a fee that I cannot help but wonder whether you are being as dishonest here and have the same motives as the person who first made the claim in question. Since I have answered your question, I wonder whether you could answer mine. I know of many people looking for land to shoot on. Do you know of anybody who will give them permissioon to shoot for free? Perhaps you could share the land that you use instead of attacking others who do so? That would be generous of you. Now, if you'll allow me to go back to my original post, I have some land available for shooting in North Wales and East Kent if anybody is interested.
  10. Allow me to demonstrate the level of honesty and intellect exhibited by who have a problem with my open offer for shooters to use my land. 1. I am not charging a fee, so the entire argument has already collapsed. 2. The very same critics point out that five acres is very small, plus the land is not stocked with game, so this is not going to be a tremendously popular shooting venue, unless of course the critics assume that other shooters are less intelligent than they are and have much lower standards. 3. The very same critics point out that £25 is very steep, therefore I do charge that amount there will be even fewer takers. 4. Even if 3 shooters per week, every week of the year, were not such a ridiculous exaggeration, one only has do the calculations:- ... Approx. land price = £45,000 (35,000 plus interest) ... 3 shooters at £25 each = £75 ... 52 weeks per year = £3,900 per week It would take me more than ten years to pay for the land. I'll be a pensioner by the time I make a profit! Now that I've dealth with the sensationalist alarmist nonsense propagated by a few individuals, allow me to return to the original topic. If anybody would like to shoot on my land, just let me know - everybody welcome.
  11. I bought the land for shooting, not to make a profit. Anybody who suggests otherwise can't have exercised very much mental effort. Even if my land was booked by somebody every Saturday of the year for £20 it wouldn't even cover the interest on my loan - do the maths! It's only 5 acres so I'm hardly going to get rich by starting a commercial shooting club! The land costs me loads so it would be nice to share the cost with other like-minded shooters if they are happy with that arrangement, but I can confirm that a pint would do nicely.
  12. I hear you, but if it doesn't sound as good as you think it should that's probably because (1) I'm not writing a marketing brochure and (2) what I'm offering is nothing particularly special. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me directly, I am not looking for a public debate, thank you. I've had a good response to my post so far and my offer is always open.
  13. Let me just clarify what's going on here, because I don't really appreciate my integrity being called into question. In fact this is the first forum I posted my offer on. I initially contacted the owner of the website and gave him my details for anybody here who might be looking for some land to shoot on in Kent or Wales, and it was actually him who asked me to post my offer on this forum, so I did. Users of this forum sent me links to a couple of other forums and suggested I post there too, so I did. I know from my own experience it's not always easy finding new land to shoot on. I've resorted to buying my own. I am not charging any fees but I do have interest and loans to pay on the property along with land management responsibilities, hence any donations are welcome. I've had a good response so far and my offer is always open.
  14. Not sure what you mean by that because I didn't ask you to send anything. If you've had a couple of emails from me you must have sent me one.
