  1. A pair of Hunter bamboo carbon welly jobbies, will be interesting to see if they're as good as they say! A big tweed shooting jacket to keep me warm while i'm out on the pigeons, and a nice new cartridge bag, though we'll see whether i deserve any of it in 9 days time!
  2. Hmm, they all look good!certainly better than my 6 flocked shells on wobblers which is what im using at the moment!I'm new to pigeon shooting so im looking for bits to add more movement to my pattern without having to shell out for a bulky and expensive magnet!I may have to put a bit of lead on them though by the look of it to weigh it down, and ill have to stop them spinning upside down, Kdubya, how much does chris green charge for his floaters? i may get a couple more after christmas time if the one ive bought does the business!
  3. Its the floater but a hypa flap one! This is it here along with the video....
  4. care to elaborate on the product in hand?do you have one? if so,does it work? Take it your not a fan, but I was looking for something a little more constructive!...
  5. Fortune favours the brave my good man! I watched the video of it before i bought it and i have to say they look bloody good! Very realistic flapping and the way it turns round in the wind as well as bouncing makes it look much better than a normal floater!
  6. Just bought myself one of these off the net, after checking out the video i have to say they look pretty good! anyone tried one of these? how are they and whats the best way of using them?atb. swedish chef
  7. Just got all my decoying gear through the post the other day and i've been dying to get out and have a bash with my new setup that has destroyed my bank account in the last month! got set up on my new permission on some barley stubble along a hedgerow about 50 yards from a big oak tree at about 9 this morning and put up my hide using split bamboo canes, (havent got proper poles yet!) put out half a dozen flocked wobbly shells and waited for what I thought was going to be a quiet morning as I couldnt see many birds about at all. I'd been down to a grass field nearby with my mate right next to a major flightline a couple of times before and drawn a blank both times so wasn't expecting much! Within 10 minutes of setting up though I had birds coming in at me from all angles decoying in perfectly! I got my first bird within 20 minutes and within an hour and a half I had 8 ferals and a woodie, could have stayed all day and it all seemed to good to be true which it was, because the lady who owns the stables 250 yards away phoned the guy who runs the shooting on my land threatening to call the police because the noise was scaring her dog... load of rubbish i reckon as the house is on the other side of the crest of a hill, but to be on the safe side we both phoned our respective FEO's and filled them in, they advised me to pack up until they can assess the situation and let us know where we stand. I reckon we are in the right here as we have to control the pigeons somehow but even so it was a right pain in the a** seeing as the day was going so well!
  8. went out for my first shotgun hunt now I have a certificate and shot my first pigeon with my new gun and had another at the end of a very slow day. my mate craig had 2 as well so thats 19320! off again friday on my new permission which is crawling with pigeons so im hoping for double figures!
  9. went out pigeon shooting today and fired a few cartridges with it wearing a thick jacket, didn't feel a thing, even from sitting! I'm certain the bruising on my arm was from bad stance when i was shooting from sitting, but the sore shoulder was remedied with padding straight away! I'm going to get myself a recoil pad of some sort for definate, apparently the stock is a little on the short side so the pad should remedy that issue as well! Now all i need to do is to figure out whether to get a PAST pad or a stock fitted pad, I'm going to also be buying some pigeon rounds too, any ideas on what a softer 30-32gr round is? looking at eley HB or clear pigeon as i cant afford the expensive stuff!
  10. It seems to fit well, the guy I know down my local gun shop fitted it with me and says it looks good in terms of fitment, fit was the first thing i was concerned with as I'm only 5"7, but the butt does feel quite sharp on my collarbone, which is why i reckon i need a pad of some sort? any ideas?
  11. Hi guys, new to the site, this is only my second post but thought i'd start as i mean to go on... with a question! New to shotguns, been shooting years but got myself a lovely new Browning medalist last week. went pigeon decoying last week for the first time and got myself a couple of birds, first ones with a shotgun as well! I fired about 30 cartridges, mainly 28gr kent velocity, mainly at onions and potatoes but went away with a rather sore shoulder and a bruise on my arm, probably from holding the gun wrongly as I was shooting from a sitting position in a trench in the field, but even in the crux of my shoulder it was tender. Thinking of getting a recoil pad of some sort as my gun has no pad at all, just hard plastic. looking at PAST recoil shoulder pads, kick eez pads or Absorb all pads, leaning towards the past as then I can use it with any gun and I wont have to modify my existing stock. Does anyone have any experience with any of the above, particularly the PAST? Any advice is appreciated! Atb, Swedish Chef
