Hereford and Worcester have a discount on at the moment for CPSA members. If you can shoot Sundays instead of Saturdays there are loads of places for you to shoot
-
Got plastic and fibre in 7.5 and 8's and fingers crossed for the weather!
-
Does anyone have any info on the score your own on Monday? Times or cartridge restrictions??
Thanks in advance
-
Cross guns kinver, forehil, Clent shooting ground, Park Farm Ombersley, cannon clay halesowen
-
By all accounts it's a very varied and challenging shoot. I'm planning on making a trip there soon
-
No probs. Where and when is the charity shoot?
-
Not many registered I know round there try salopian he may know few canon is good fun at Halesowen and there is frog hill fact is there aren't many reg grounds...... Shame really....
WCTSA is truly awful website and still need to join by post with a cheque IIRC coda will take your money and do scores but can't shoot for county unless you join wctsa.....
I'm spoilt for local shoots forehill, cannon, cross gun, Clent shooting ground, Hereford and Worcester, Park farm and there are at least two others I can't think of their names!

Westward - I'm in Stourbridge
Kingo15 - I'm on suggesting anything of the sort, just said it was a bit of a blow
My initial post asked for advice on registered shoots quickly followed by 'help, am I missing something on the CPSA site?'
Of the Folkes that responded, only Westward picked up on my issue
-
Westward has grasped exactly what I asked.
Others have replied (many thanks) but have missed the point of initial question! Quite a few people have posted 'find a club link' etc but either have their registered ground already or haven't tried using the system. From what I have seen you can't filter out registered shoots no matter what combination of selection you put in. I've looked in several sections (Inc type of shoot, county etc) going directly to quite a few grounds to establish where I can enter a registered shoot to find that the nearest is going to be in the area of 60 miles away. That might not seem far to some but it's a bit if a blow if wanting to practice at a ground before hand and flying solo will obviously not help my finances!

Thanks Westward, glad for confirmation that it isn't just me being a dumb****!
It really is a **** system ☺ -
Example......
I look at region Hereford and Worcester
6 clubs listed, I look at each one and there is no mention of a registered shoot most list nothing at all!
Park farm lists all its dates but none say registered, or are they all???
Sorry if it's me being a dumb***!
-
I must be missing something (I admit I'm trying on my phone not computer!). I can't see a list or section showing me what registered shoots there are?? Or do I have to look at each club individually to see what they have on offer? The request for advice was in general not necessarily specific to a club, I put that I was in the West Midlands as advice or an invite to a club 500 miles away may not help (I should of tried to make that a little clearer, my bad!

Hi all. Have just renewed my CPSA and have gone for full as opposed to clubman with the intention of doing registered shoots to gain a classification. Any advice on any registered shoots would be fantastic
Thanks in advance

^^If you see that goth fella again please please please take a sneaky photo!

Dazlindazza - chokes won't alter how far the shot travels, they constrict the pattern. A typical example of a shotgun pattern is a 30" circle, a full choke will send more of the shot to the centre of the circle an open choke will have the shot more evenly distribute across the circle. My advice would be not to get to stressed about chokes, for sporting I use quarter and half and only change if changing discipline
-
A friend of mine was told the same thing at the Midland game fair by a BASC instructor, I couldn't believe that someone (and someone in the know at that!) would talk such drivel! Compare a shotgun shot with a golfer hitting a drive.... The golfers follow through is doing very little to the ball as it's already off from the initial impact but the follow through must be completed for the shot to be any good

As new, only taken out of box to set up and never used. I can't upload photo due to file size issues, should anyone be interested I can send photos via email. The link below is to the same vice. Looking for £40 ono

Get yourself to someone who can identify the 'not fitting' issue and do something about it or you will be paying twice for the same problem. Am experienced coach or instructor may spot the issue but not be able to rectify it. A proper gunsmiths should be able to not only see what's wrong but also be in a position to alter the gun for you
