Mick "claywizardss", emailed me his Beretta 391 Gas Valve Cleaning document in *.pdf format. After a quick read / scan I liked his document so well I decided to host it for him, since he's having problems finding a way to get it online for everyone.

Would like thank Jeff( jetsurgeon) in USA for all his help in hosting this manual for me on his Server. so everyone can get a copy Nice Job.

  4. Funny thing is ,only yesterday i was cleaning my gun & wished i had one of these .cheers marcus

Yeh I know what u mean, does take the grief out of of removing the gas valve nuts, my knuckles are much better now since I stopped using those silly spanners beretta supply.

    Thanks for your order,

    Regards Mick

  5. That looks a superb piece of engineering, Is the gas valve something you need to take apart regularly?

My Extrema is different to that though.

    Cheers

    MC

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for the compliment, glad u like em

    I will pass it on.

My relative who made these is one of the old time engineers who has his own bussines and has two working parners who really know there stuff about metals and machining they have some of the latest equipment as they make specialist parts for the railways,

These fit all Beretta 391 models as far as I know with the same gas valve port as shown in the picture on my post

I dissmantle and remove mine to clean the gas ports in the barrel with a couple of pipe cleaners and clean the gas valve parts at the same time after every shoot but then I'm a bit of a cleaning freak! I'm told by cleaning these parts it aids recyling 24gm carts.

    Cheers Mick

  8. Can someone help me please. Mrs has 98 Fiesta. Runs great apart from when you hit 4500 revs then a flat spot appears. It will pass through slowly and clears around 5000rpm. This happens in every gear! Had it serviced, asked them they don't know. Fitted new fuel filter last week-no change.

This problem has been around for 6 months. Never bothered to much just thought about it. Now mrs has learnt to use the motorway and it is a problem when overtaking.

I have asked three different mechanics, non have any idea what is causing this.

I thought diaphram in the carb perhaps???

It is a 1250 Zetec s engine with 100,000 miles on the clock. The car is reliable in every way-never let us down in 7 yrs.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :good:

I had similar prob with escort, zetec, took it to a garage put it on the computer was air flow meter,

  9. No need to get upset! Just making a point that nobodys going to travel the length of the country for a £600 motor but that doesnt stop photo collectors asking for pics just for the sake of it. Now if your interested in my sale I might take your hilux in part ex.

    Cheers Owain

Why dont u upload a couple of pics on here, that'l save all the pic hunters from asking.

  10. i after going pigeon shooting on thursday and my ear is still ringing to day i have decided to invests in some electronic ear defenders. which one do you guys think are the best, i have also looked at the napier pro 9 range if anyone has any experience of using these thanks.

p.s. this ringing is driving me mad i am 17 and its usually gone by the next morning, how long do you guys think it will take to go.

Hi Zipdog, take my advice, I have tinitus ( ringing in both ears) now for over 15 years from my work exposure to noise on the coalface.

at onetime it used to go away like yours now its there for good and it aint no joke.

buy the best you can afford and never shoot without protection or u will end up like me and thousands of others,

i use peltor sport tac but if you have ringing now do some research and get the best or you will be sorry, also have a look at case loads of tinitus sufferers and it may just change your thinking.

    good luck

  11. Had the same problem on my urika 2 semi, got my self a proper chamber brush then put some 009 on a mop and patch then left it in the barrel at the point of fouling for 2 days the gave it a good scrub with the chamber brush with a patch on and soaked in 009, ( they are very slightley bigger) then ran a patch on a mop again with 009, JOB DONE

  12. I wanted to buy the new Browning Maxus but the swines had sold it, and they are not sure when exactly the new lot are coming in and I dont want to drive miles, so left to choose from is the Beretta Urika, Benelli Monty, and the Winchester SX3, I would seriously like some opinions from those that know about the above :good:

I only want 3" magnum capacity.

    Thanks

    Alan

My first gun and love it, urika 2 classic, 4 months old from a dealer with 9 years transferable warranty, bought the stripdown manual from seamus on shotgun world, great for

lack of recoil and a breeze to clean after every shoot, 15mins max strip.

  13. Hi all ,i'm haveing trouble getting the barrel clean on one of my shotguns .I'm useing napier gun cleaner but it doesn't seem to be removing all the muck .So has anyone got any ideas what else i can try .cheers marcus

U could try soaking a mop or patch in parker hale 009 push into the chamber to the point of fouling and leave for a couple of days then remove, then use a proper payne gallwey chamber brush which is slightly larger than a bore brush soaked in 009 as per instructions on the spray tin.

This worked for my urika 2 optima barrel

    REGARDS Mick

  14. Hi all

Finally got my shotgun certificate through this morning! Woohoo!

Now, I'd like to get a range of cartridges to try. As I've mentioned before, my local RFD is pricey and not very helpful - but as it happens, I'm likely to be in either Kent (Canterbury) or Essex (Braintree) this weekend, and I'm wondering if anyone can reccomend a good cart supplier in either of these? The only one I know in Kent is Greenfields, that's quite close to me but don't know what their prices are like. I'll give them a bell shortly. But are there any others that are worth a look?

    Many thanks.

Could try huttonscartridges in Deal, great prices.

  15. Anybody ever used this on a semi instead of oil?

As a plumber I have used this many times on metal and poly items in the course of my work and found it a fantastic product.

I HAVE NOT USED it on my Urika 2 semi but just wondered if any one else had used it on the action and trigger group of any other make or type of gun.

    Thoughts please!

Please see information below, just back from 3 IN 1 MANUFACTURING DEPT, thanks for all your replies to my questions

Please see detailed and useful response from our manufacturing department:

I have a shotgun and have maintained it for over ten years with either WD-40, or 3-IN-ONE High Performance Lubricant. They are, to my mind much better propositions because they contain more beneficial additives than a straight silicone. These additives provide better durability, anti wear additives, extreme pressure additives and the ability to clean i.e. penetrate rust and corrosion deposits, and by inference powder and lead deposits. I find them both exceptionally effective in removing powder and shot deposits within the barrels. They will also remove finger marks and leave a thin protective deposit on blued surfaces thereby reducing the likelihood of corrosion. A very light application is all that is necessary.

Ordinary WD-40 is probably a better bet than the 3-IN-ONE High Performance Lubricant on a semi-auto, in view of the presence of PTFE particles in the latter, which may cause jamming.

I wouldn’t use the Silicone Spray.

I hope this information is of assistance to you, any problems please let me know.
