    1 piece or 2

hi all after finding that my beloved hw35k,had wandered of zero, and spent a while rezeroing it,i then discovered that ive been suffering from scope creep,**** knows how i missed it,the scope mount closest to the eyepiece was barely on the dovetail,(wot a wayne kerr) :*) any way you fellas in the know, which is best, 1)one piece mount 2) two piece mount 3)either of the above with an arrestor block, i personally would have thought that a 1 pce mount has lass chance of moving, but i would appreciate your opinions, cheers fellas regards bob

    New to forum

hiya and welcome to the forum,im a new boy also, having been airgun hunting on and of for thirty odd years, they are a great bunch on here, and there are some very knowledgeable shooters /hunters, it certainly shortens the learning curve, you can pick up some good tips and theres nothing like an honest opinion when it comes to upgrade, regards bob
  4. AXE you are a mine of information.many thanx regards bob
  5. hi all can someone please help me,how do you take the breasts of the pigeon?i was recently reading john darlings book on airgun hunting(may he R.I.P.) in it he describes how to debreast a pigeon by yanking on the breast bone,i tried that this morning,no hopes i had to revert to slicing the breasts of the ribcage,so can someone please help me as ive even googled it and just ended up with porn sites,so please help preferably with pickys, :*) thanx bob
  6. hi all thanx for all the info, ive just taken another pidg, whilst sitting in my office looking down the garden, one landed on the lawn,as the window was already open,i slipped an air arms hunter into the breach of my hw35,trained the cross hairs on the leading edge, slipped the trigger and he just rolled forward, ive just bunged him in the shed to cool down a bit,and ill play with its breasts later, OOoer missus :*) regards bob
  7. hi all im a new fella to the website so im just flicking thru old threads, heres a trick i use to keep my gun looking pretty,i use the same stuff to clean my flyfishing lines, ARMORALL DASHBOARD WIPES, they come in a handy dispensor they a cloths that are impregnated with silicone,i just wipe over the blued parts of the gun, they remove all fingerprints and other nasty residues like magic, regards bob
  8. HI ALL having just moved house,we are now in an area that is infested with bird life,im glad to say,(member of the rspb you know)anyway we also have a rather large population of woodies and collareds, which are not only eating all the seed that we put out for the little tweeters but are also scoffing the flowers of the girlfriends plants,so my trusty hw35 was called into action, and i dropped two woodies as i was about to de breast them,i noticed they were both crawling with fleas and one of them had a tick under his wing, now my question is are they still ok to eat ,as i dont like to kill for the sake of killing and i prefer to eat what i kill, also i believe there is an easier way of debreasting them, rather than slicing each breast of individualy, regards bob
  9. hi all just wanted to introduce myself,im BOBFLY,i live on the south coast of hampshire,i have hunted on and off with an airgun for the past 30 yrs, having shot with merlins, powerlines, innovas, airsporters, vulcans, rabbitstoppers and now onto hw35k,which i must admit is a very nice shoot and im getting back in the swing of tight groups,in all my other guns ive always shot wasps(5.6mm)but i thought i would try a few different ones(having not shot for about 4 yrs)im getting consistently good groups with air arms hunter, ive also tried rws super h point and logun penetrator, the latter do not suit the gun at all they are all over the place, and the rws werent bad giving good groups but 2"above my zero which was a concern,if any of you have any other advice on pellets for the hw 35k id be more than happy to try them, also have any of you got any experience with the logun solo,as im planning to upgrade to one of these in the new year, regards bob
