  1. Went out today for the first time decoying. Unfortunately the crops where too tall to get a proper go with FUDs. Having siad that I found a very small clearing within the crop quite near a hedgerow. I put out 6 of the decoys, not to overcrowd the clearing, set up a hide and although not very visible from the air they still brought in some pigeons. Not as many as I would of liked but for my first time with such heavy cover, I was pleased. Really looking forward to when the crops are cut.
  2. You see, there is the fundamental flaw in your plan. I need to shoot some first!! I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks.
  3. Hi, I'm new to pigeon decoying and have just bought a dozen FUDS just to get me started.. Just a general question, what would be a good number of decoys to put out. Will the dozen I bought get me off to some sort of a start initially? I guess in terms of types of decoys its a case of trial and error and listening to other shooters for advice on forums like this one. Thanks, Andy.
  4. Thanks Steve, I've looked at the website and looks good. Do you get out often and what sort of bags have you had? Cheers, Andy.
  5. Can't believe I've just seen this!! I've tried endlessly to gain some permission in Kent, having no success I've been looking for a small syndicate to join locally to me. I'm not very experienced in the field but sensible with a gun and a quick learner, I guess we all have to start somewhere. Got to the point where I stopped clay shooting for about 8 months as primarily I wanted to be out in the field and had just about given up. Picked up the gun last week and shot a few clays and now desperately want to get back into it. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or opportunities it would all be greatly appreciated. Andy.
  6. Hi, I'm in Rochester and wouldn't mind doing some pigeon. I only hold a shotgun licence and have only shot clays before but fancy getting out there on some live quarry. I've not shot for quite a while and would be a complete novice in the field so would need some help and advice. I know not everyone would be keen to take a newbie out with them so I'll understand if it doesn't suit you. Thanks, Andy.
  7. I can see you haven't had much luck in the Medway area! I'm in the same position as yourself. Do you ever shoot over at Petes air gun farm in Essex? I've been a few times, only takes about 45 mins from Medway well worth it. Although it's only non fac air guns allowed, is that any good to you? Andy
  8. Hi there, just a quick hello, I'm new to pw and have an interest in air guns. I live in the Medway area of Kent and always looking for advice on shooting and places to shoot. At the moment I use Petes air gun farm in Essex, not as often as I would like due to work and family commitments. Does anyone know of anything closer to my area? Always looking for advice and tips as I don't have alot of expirience under my belt regarding live quarry. Many thanks Another Andy.
