My two hounds at Bamburgh beach this January. Both retired/rescues from Tia at Sowerby Bridge. Keen as mustard chasing mr wabbit but as the Elvis song goes "you ain't nothing but a hound dog, you never caught a rabbit.... etc". It doesn't stop them trying though, same applies to squirrels, pheasants, foxes, in fact anything that runs quickly in the opposite direction. Sleep 22 hours a day, hate the cold and as the saying goes 45mph couch potatoes. Wouldn't swap them though.

Hello and greetings from Huddersfield. I'm a newbie to Pigeon Watch and have been mooching around the site for while gleaning more information than I can possibly absorb. I've recently bought a Weihrauch HW95k from Antony at Redbeck Shooting (excellent fella.) with the intention doing a bit of rabbiting. I only live a mile away from Paul Lane Rifle & Pistol Club so will be heading up there on Saturday to find out about membership, lessons, tutorials, etc. I want to get as proficient as possible with my shooting before attempting the real thing. The advice on this site about gaining shooting permission has been invaluable and I'll have to start getting around the local farms to try and obtain permission for shooting rabbits. Is there anyone from Huddersfield (or nearby) who wouldn't mind me tagging along, just to watch (not hunting) and show me the basics, especially with stalking, thumbing, paunching, etc. Cheers Matt
