  1. Hi, My father and I are looking for new shooting opportunities since the farmer who let us shoot on his land died the other month. We're up for any pest control, from pigeons & crows to foxes and bunnies. I am a member of BASC and so i'm insured. I shoot a 5+1 Benelli Supernova, my father an Over & Under Lanber. Both 12 Bore. I work shifts, so I can shoot weekdays or weekends, morning noon or night depending on my rota. Ideally we'd like to shoot in the Chesterfield area, however we don't mind travelling further afield to the mansfield area, south yorkshire or matlock. Anyone interested let me know Thanks
  2. There's a lot of voyuers on this thread, but no-one saying much. Hows about this then - price reduced to £500. For that price you really ought to be snapping my hand off...
  3. I posted a while back advertising my beloved Mossberg 590 pump action shotgun up for sale at £350, well in view of the fact I have some competition I am now dropping the price to £250. This is a smashing gun, synthetic furniture, factory installed heat sheild, flash hider, high viz front bead and sling and I am amazed it hasn't been snapped up yet. It is FAC (8+1) and has recently been serviced and in full working order. Its just the ticket in a pigeon hide and is perfect for vermin control and practical shooting. I'm chucking in a mossberg gun slip too, which you can only get from the states. If it doesn't sell this time it's going in storage for when I get my licence sorted out in New Zealand. Ladies and Gents you really won't get a better rough shooting gun and at this price its practically being given away. PM me for any more info you might want.
  4. cracking guns aren't they? I shall be sorry to loose mine
  5. Where's your way? Remind me not to come round to buy magazines! I bought them with the gun mate at York Guns
  6. Well, I am in favour of the death penalty. What possible good would it do keeping someone like Moat locked up for the rest of his life? It would be a waste of money. The fact that he shot himself saved us all from forking out for a whopping great trial where he probably would have played the mental health card and been sent to some soft institution. Its already been said but the police did a sterling job and the fact that they were using taser shotgun carts shows that that were trying to fetch him back in one piece. Those hand held tasers only have the range of a few feet - despite what the films may try and suggest so why should the police risk there own lives getting close enough with one of them when they can deliver it from a safer distance? The law says the police can use what they belive to be "reasonable force". I think under these circumstances a taser shotgun cartridge is definitely reasonable, but then so would a 12 bore slug IMHO. Good riddance to moat
  7. A price breakdown - no probs. Working moderator - £90 3 x 22rd magazines - £60 1 x 10rd magazine - £15 High/low tac mounts -£50 scope - £50 gun - £550 or £475 as our good friend found one for gun bag - £20 Now my calculator was slightly off first time so I make it worth around £850. Still for what i'm asking you'll never need to buy owt else with it. As for the jamming issue. I've heard stories about GSG5's jamming, but mine never has. I've also heard horror stories about ruger 10/22's, Walther G22's and pretty much any other .22 semi you can name. I personally dislike winchester o/u shotguns as everyone I have used has fired both barrels simultaneously, yet other folk rave about them. I appreciate your mate may have had to send his back to germany, but maybe his was a one off. The GSG will only fail to feed if you hold it by the magazine, but even the instruction manual tells you not to do that. You wouldn't drive a car with the hand brake on would you?!? Tell you what chaps and chapesses, I'll knock the price down to £600. Can't say fairer than that.
  8. RE the wildfowling comment I stand corrected. Quite right mate, you can't use it for wildfowling. It'd be ideal if you could though as its a really tough well made shooter and its taken everything i've thrown at it. Maybe thats a selling point for anyone out there selling one on SGC...
  9. Hi Mikky, I use a hoppes boresnake on it, and a small wire brush for the chamber. I'll chuck them in too. With the scope mine will quite happily take bunnies to about 60 yrds. As for the jamming, if you hold it by the magazine it won't feed properly, but other than that it functions flawlessly. The problem with H&K? Trademark infringement. Because it was the spitting image of the MP5, H&K got a bit hot under the collar about it. Co-incidentally they released a .22lr MP5 shortly after...
  10. Well, not only am I having to get rid of my Shotgun, but my rifle too! I'm off to New Zealand in a couple of months, and I'm selling my guns - a mossberg 590 pump action shotgun on FAC and also now my favorite rifle - a GSG 5SD semi auto in .22lr. For use in New Zealand I would need to a specialised licence that cost a lot of money, so unfortunately I have to sell it Anyway, enough of my moaning. The rifle is 9 months old, comes with 4 magazines (3 x22 rounds, 1 x 10 rounds), high and low tactical mounts, a working sound moderator. It also comes with a 4 x 32 illuminated mil dot scope and i'll chuck a gun bag in for it too. It you want any more parts for it there are bags of sites online offering magazines, collapsable stocks and other assorted goodies This rifle really is the bee's knees at the range and is pretty damn accurate to boot. It's also great for rabbiting but be aware it is the spitting image of an MP5 submachine gun so be sensible about where you take it. In total the full package would cost over £900, however as I need a quick sale I'm offering it up for £650. P.S For those of you who are in the know about these guns, it is actually the old style gun - ie the ones before the comapny was sued by H&K. You can't buy this type new anymore
  11. From what I understand converting a shotgun from FAC to SGC is an awkward process and one that the folks at the firearms licensing authority aren't mad keen on. I did have a word with my local dealer who said that even if you get the magazine crimped to hold only 2+1 and send it for proof they will still keep it on an FAC because of what it was. This info is all second hand mind, so if you know any different then feel free to correct me! Like I said before though, if anyone needs advice as to how to get permission for an FAC shotgun, just get in touch. I know first hand what a pain in the **** it can be and I might be able to offer you some pointers
  12. Cheers mate. If you ever fancy an FAC shotgun and need any advice as to how to get it on your ticket, give me a nudge
  13. Pictures as promised. I've had to really shrink them down, so if you can't see them PM me.
  14. Hi all, I'm moving out to New Zealand in the next few months, and unfortunately I am having to sell my Mossberg 590. Its a pump action on FAC with factory installed flash hider and heat shield. I've also had fitted to it sling mounts, a quality sling and a high viz red bead sight. I've also managed to get hold of an official mossberg gun slip for it which you can only get in the USA normally. The gun is ambidextrous, so all you south paws out there can use it same as everyone else. The chamber is 2.75" - 3", so it'll take magnum shells, but not 3.5" super magnum. Loaded with 2.75" the guns capacity is 8+1 and with 3" cartridges it is a 7+1. To be honest I don't really want to get rid of this gun as its probably the best gun i've ever used. Trouble is for what i'll be spending on storage costs and importing it I could buy a new one out there. Thats the plan anyway unless the missus gets hold of the money first The gun was recently serviced and is around 14 months old - bought from new. Its tough as old boots and is ideal for pigeon/crow/magpies, wildfowling and practical shooting. With what I have spent on it, its worth at least £500, but i'm offering it out for £350. It comes with a moosberg 10 year guarantee, so should you get any problems then the manufacturer will put it right. For the price i'm offering you'll not get a gun this reliable or hard wearing. Get in touch if you are interested. Regards Joe P.S I've had problems adding pics to the ad, so i'll try again in a bit. If you want a look, message me and i'll send you some.
