  1. I have to disagree. With a fully adjustable stock you can really minimize muscle-tension and you only have to concentrate on the target and your trigger technique. Why do all the long-range snipers have fully adjustable stocks? I started with a standard SPS: 1.5 MOA Replaced the stock by a free floating Boyds' thumb-hole: 1 MOA Adjusted the standard trigger myself (X Pro) to 800 grams: < 1 MOA Waiting for the B&C A5 tactical stock: ?? (< .75 MOA I hope) All the above with standard re-loaders, no expensive Lapua etc. (Privi fire-formed brass, 168 grn Privi HPBT, Federal 210 primer and 42 grn N150) Still have to find the best speed (300 mtr) and determine the "sweet spot". I love the gun, it's inexpensive and with a little effort en some €, you can customize it to your needs. Out of the box it's a hunting gun, but it has a lot of potential. For the future maybe a Jewell trigger and a better scope....... please! BTW: the above is for LR target-shooting and not for hunting.
  2. Hi Dave, Just let me know! And now back to steelshot from a 3800 Miroku
  3. This is me at the clay range:
  4. Hi Dave, Do you want to shoot a match or just for fun/practice? The range I go to is 115 km from Den Helder. It's a nice and cosy range in Bant (NOP). The other opion in Biddinghuizen 150 km, a much bigger complex called Dorhout Mees but we call it Duurhout Mees ("duur" means expensive) If you want to shoot together, let me know (good practice for my English and shooting) When are you coming? I can see if there's a match in that period...... Regards, Ronald
  5. I'm expecting a B&C A5 (fully adjustable) for my Remmie this week. Let you know as soon as I tried it. Its the black one with gray webbing
  6. I'm not going use the gun for hunting, so max. load will be 28gr #6 for clay-shooting (pretty low pressure) Yes, you can hunt with shotguns over here if you have a hunting-permit, but there is a total lead ban. Hunting and clay. Hunting over here isn't that easy, to many people in a small country. Not much hunting grounds...... and not much public support. Last time I've been hunting was in 04 in South-Africa Greetings, Ronald
  7. Hello Mick, Our range is not that large and in the woods, so the first shot has to be quick and the second at a max of 30 yards. Otherwise the pigeon is behind the trees 1/4 and 1/2 would also do the job and might be better, but this will teach to be a better shot Cheers, Ronald
  8. Hello, Let me introduce myself shortly. I'm a 41 year old man from the Netherlands (sorry, if my English is not so good) and a newbie in clay-shooting. I've done some hunting in my youth, but mostly shoot with my Rem700 and handguns. I've tried clay-shooting a few weeks a go with some friends and I'm "hooked"! Only problem I run in to is that my cheek gets bruised when I use the guns which belong to the range. Because I'm quiet tall (1.93 mtr), I need a gun with a long length of pull en a stock bend a little to the right. Last week I went to a gun-shop and found a nice '82 Miroku 3800 12 Ga (Browning serial number) in good conditions that "fits like a glove". Also for a reasonable price (€499) that I want to use for Trap and Compact. It has 1/2 and 3/4 fixed chokes, so here are the questions: Does someone have experience with shooting steel from this kind of gun? Which weight's and size (cartridges)? Standard or High Velocity? Shot pattern? Thanks in advance, Ronald PS: I don't want to start another discussion about shooting steel-shot from 3/4, I know what the manuals say
