  1. Was looking at a rape field that has been heavily  shot in the last couple of weeks ,a few birds in the trees and a trickle of birds coming in watched for over half hour and decided to set up .put the hide under a oak Tree that birds were pulling to when I was watching  , set out  a dozen she'll deeks o  spring  sticks and had birds looking but not committing  shot a couple of long birds and set them up on  sticks above the rape it made a deference some birds decoyed some flew past with the wind in their tales wow when you hit one it was over a 100 yds before it hit the ground  had snow showers and then sun would come out , ended up with 25 birds not a big bag but but what sport in the wind very enjoyable.

  2. Will have to find out how mutch to send it by rfd having trouble trying to send picture  but it's  in fairly  good nick as said before couple of marks on stock but no cracks  or splits will be Thursday before I know about the rfd as they are closed Wednesday. Would not sell if it was  bad one?

  3. Went to feed a duck pond after  the freeze  and put out some fox bait ,was looking for some pigeons  on stubble that they have been o  for a couple of months now, walked a  couple of hundred off parked up and after half hour none had come back but noticed  a flight line of crows to another stubble  so set up at the only oak Tree in the field , had jackdaws rooks and carrion coming over but reluctant to come to decoys  as with  no wind but a very cold day I was taking birds at good range and shot some very good birds  as I added the dead I got more response and some did decoy if I had set up earlier  I would have had  a lot more  but it was 1 30  before I started and shot til, 3 15  when it went quiet picked 35 mixed corvids  and one pigeon  it was very enjoyable  though to out wit the crows.

  4. Was busy early on so was after 1 30 before could get out , looked at some local perms and by the time I had found some birds and got set up it was 3 35 and after pushing a lot of birds off the field so late did not expect a lot to come back, but a few started to trickle over and one or 2 came close enough to shoot it was allover by 4 30as you could see birds going in to the roost woods I picked 16 bits I less than a hour and had some really good birds so even though it was a good walk with all the gear I really enjoyed it .

  5. Took dogs for a walk to see if we could get a pheasant Or 2 they flushed a cock that flew straight towards a farmhouse so had to let it go, a bit further on they flushed a second bird that I shot so a good start , no other birds flushed so decided to have a look further down the track as it's a mile from top to bottom of the lane. Looking over the stubble and could see a good lot of crows using it the came from a old rubbish dump that had been grassed over.set up on the railway bank on the upwind side , as soon as hide up and decoys out the crows begin to decoy the good wind helped to keep them moving the shooting was good and for once on crows I shot well having 5 doubles I ended up with 40 crows and 7 woodies and one good thing was every crow was carrion crow , no jackdaws or rooks so hope to have done some song birds a favour next spring.
